I genuinely don't get why people care so much about the Ballon D'or. It's very much a nonsense, and meaningless in the great scheme of football.

Hard to disagree because it is a team sport but recognition for outstanding contributions should be ok in any sport. There's no doubt its become a political thing these days which ruins it a little. |

I'm still of the opinion that there should be no individual award but one per position. Messi and Ronaldo cleaned up for years despite being in teams with Xavi, Iniesta, Modric etc etc.
