Read earlier as well that since 2013-14 the top 6 sides scoring 5+... City - 27 Liverpool - 14 Arsenal - 13 Chelsea - 10 Spurs - 9 Us - 0 Wish we would remedy the striker issue aswell so we can add a few to that list. Seem to struggle at one end, if its not defending goals its scoring the bloody things. Tbf apart from the Spurs and Valencia games we have scored every game haven't we? I think the Spurs game was a bit of an anomaly as well. Aye but its mostly been stretched and grounded out results. When is the last game you can say we comfortably won and bossed the game the way we should be doing? Unfortunately this is something the other 5 sides have done a shit ton more often.

Well Pool have just grounded out a 1 nil thrashing against Huddersfield and needed a penalty miss and last minute goal to avoid defeat in the previous 2 games. Yet they are 9 points ahead of us. Yet they are supposed to be amazing.... They have been lucky in a number of games this season. Their defence is better than ours though. We should be doing better but it's obvious we are suffering at the back and De Gea can't be used as an excuse for our 'false' league position any longer.

Our defence is still a major concern and can concede far too easily, promising up front and it goes to show what we are capable of when we attack despite a Lukaku and Rashford non event once again.

We don’t know for certain. It looks like we’re man to man on set pieces but there could be situations where a man gets passed on. It COULD be the situation here. You would only switch markers when you have failed to mark them a couple of times. And that switch would come from the manager, not the players themselves. That Pogba was marking Rudiger afterwards would also suggest that he fucked up and there was no switch Just on Rudiger, he ran over to the touchine earlier in the game, insinuating that we were taking our time when we were 2-1 ahead. Then Rudiger legged it over to our bench, trying to get involved in the fracas with Jose after they equalised. He was another utter bellend today. Honestly.

Being reported that 'Ianni swung a clenched fist in front of Mourinho' during the celebrations of Barkley's equaliser. Fuck me, no wonder Jose and our bench lost it. I'd have throttled Ianni, if that was me. What an utter prick!! He did. It was in the 'phwoa i have a big penis position' if you get what i mean. Not in the 'I'm gonna punch you position'. He should get a touchline ban.

Don't think so mate, Pogba knew what was coming there and although he was slow to react, he was the only one who seemed to understand their play. Lindelof should have switched to Rudiger imo . Luiz did the same thing against Southampton the previous game I think when Barkley scored. Sorry, that's complete and utter horseshit. At set pieces you each have a man. Rudiger was Pogba's man. Edit- someone on Red Cafe said Rudiger had mentioned communication between Pogba and Lindeof before the corner was taken. So again, it COULD be that Pogba was trying to make a switch and Lindelof didn’t hear or react. This doesn't relate to Lindelof or Pogba who both clearly had a man (I thought so anyway), but Jose specifically said in the post-match presser that we play a mixed system, so presumably some players don't have a specific man but a zone.

First game in a very tough 6 game stretch. Just hope we look at the performance (2nd half at least) and use that to drive us through it and pick up some good results, instead of letting the late equaliser have a deflating impact.

I think we need to drop Lukaku and start Rashford and Martial up top without him. So many times a player wants to play it forward via the channels and he doesn’t make the run. He can’t hold the ball up and he has no pace. We today how dangerous we can be on the counter for that 2nd goal and Lukaku was a bystander.

Aye, he seems like the only player at the minute getting a free pass. There was another good chance of a counter attack in the 2nd half after we'd gone in front which he fucked up. I'd genuinely rather have Sanchez in the attack instead of him at the moment.

There was no way Martial or Mata should have come off before Lukaku today.
He's definitely getting a free pass with Mourinho. He did nothing so would have been far more beneficial to separate him for Herrera instead.
Play Sanchez up top if need be or better still play with two up top with Rashford and Martial and see how they link up together.

Fair enough IF that was the case, but when your team mate doesn't get the memo in time you revert back to plan A.

Lukaku or Alexis in... Sophie’s choice. There was another moment that made me grain - when Lukaku nodded a ball gently forward as if he wasn’t the most advanced player. He nods it right to three Chelsea players, then turns around and waves an arm angrily at some other player who couldn’t have been closer than 20 yards behind him.

Problem is Jose's attacking football is built around the concept of a big, tall target man. It makes a lot of sense to drop Lukaku and try a different system, see where that takes us. An interchanging forward 3 of Martial, Rashford, and Alexis sounds a lot more promising to me than sticking with Lukaku at the moment. That being said, maybe when this season ends we should try to help Lukaku fulfill his Serie A ambition. I think he's much more suited to that league anyway.
