I was on Twitter earlier today and saw the English Open (snooker) was in Crawley this week and still had tickets. I called my Dad (the only person I know who also likes snooker) and asked if he wanted to go to the Saturday lunchtime session, which started at 1PM. He couldn't, because they have a house viewing that day.
It was only when I was walking to the tube station a few hours later that I realise that I hadn't cared at all about missing this game. Away at Chelsea, one of the biggest games of the season. True, we have a pretty poor record there, but it's still always been a huge, exciting (in the build-up anyway), must-watch game. And I didn't care at all that I might miss it. I've missed 4 or 5 games this season already which is more than I usually miss across a whole season, but most were due to immovable engagements (a couple of holidays, a work event etc.). It only hit me just now how apathetic I've become.
I remember in January 2015 working a Sunday and having to miss an FA Cup game vs. a lower league team (Yeovil?), and being absolutely furious I was missing it. Now I barely care if I miss one of the biggest games of the season (though it seems I won't). LVG's football wasn't exactly inspiring so it's not just Jose's style. I think it's just years of being ground down by shit football across 3 managers, and the all-round mismanagement. I doubt it's just me - I think even last season this thread would've been created and have a few pages of buildup by now.
Anyway, chat here about the game!

2-1 us. I could be working, so I will probably miss it. Just had a quick nosey around, there doesn't appear to be any more injuries. Not that it matters when you've got Dara O'briains mugshot on the back of the bus which is parked on the 18 yard line.

After my last sensational white knuckle ride match day thread this one has a lot to live upto.
We have to turn around the Stamford Bridge Curse eventually! They are unbeaten, let's hope that should motivate the lads to do something?

It's bad that part of me doesn't care if we don't win because it means Chelsea stay in touch with fucking Liverpool.
Also, I'm playing on Saturday. KO at two, meet at one. Barely registering that I'm missing the Utd match. Think I remember last season's shitshow too well.

I can't not go for a United win but in the back of my mind I know a win means we meander on with Jose while Liverpool & City move away from Chelsea. That would be a disaster. I chose to not think about this game much.

Is Ander back yet? We'll need some of his shithousery on Hazard to keep the score respectable.

Excited for this fixture, TBH. Let's see if the miserable cunt learned anything from the 2nd half vs the Barcodes.

If we didn't have the International break I'd be a bit more confident that the atmosphere/momentum could be carried forward, as it stands I think he'll try and be too clever because he's had to long to think about things. 4-0 defeat

But our attack is as good as Liverpool's and City's, yet we rarely flex that muscle. It's time to set them loose. Also, I'd love Mata to start this.

Hate, hate, hate this game. The cunts seem to always find a way to do us no matter how good we are.
Can see us playing reasonably well, Lukaku missing a few good chances and them beating us 1-0 from a moment of Hazard magic.
