Nothing to worry about Young will mark Hazard out of the game....

On Jose's first 2 seasons when we played there we were the team on better form and still lost. Maybe going to the bridge after our horrendous run of results will create a weird role reversal?
What I've found to be particularly strange about this fixture is the amount of absolutely horrible decisions that have gone against us over the years. At the very least I hope that if we lose it's not because of Michael fucking Oliver again (or any other ref for that matter).

I was on Twitter earlier today and saw the English Open (snooker) was in Crawley this week and still had tickets. I called my Dad (the only person I know who also likes snooker) and asked if he wanted to go to the Saturday lunchtime session, which started at 1PM. He couldn't, because they have a house viewing that day. It was only when I was walking to the tube station a few hours later that I realise that I hadn't cared at all about missing this game. Away at Chelsea, one of the biggest games of the season. True, we have a pretty poor record there, but it's still always been a huge, exciting (in the build-up anyway), must-watch game. And I didn't care at all that I might miss it. I've missed 4 or 5 games this season already which is more than I usually miss across a whole season, but most were due to immovable engagements (a couple of holidays, a work event etc.). It only hit me just now how apathetic I've become. I remember in January 2015 working a Sunday and having to miss an FA Cup game vs. a lower league team (Yeovil?), and being absolutely furious I was missing it. Now I barely care if I miss one of the biggest games of the season (though it seems I won't). LVG's football wasn't exactly inspiring so it's not just Jose's style. I think it's just years of being ground down by shit football across 3 managers, and the all-round mismanagement. I doubt it's just me - I think even last season this thread would've been created and have a few pages of buildup by now. Anyway, chat here about the game!
Has... Has the many smarts thread leaked?
Yes, it leaked into our whole fucking club!

I don't think this run of games will be as bad as people think. This lot have been able to raise it at times over the last few years under Van Gaal too, either when the shackles are off or against the big teams
who the fuck knows, what team or formation he'll pick or change after 20 minutes
Best guess is Fellaini and Pogba play deep and park the bus or McTominay in a Velcro suit stuck to Hazard

Hate, hate, hate this game. The cunts seem to always find a way to do us no matter how good we are. Can see us playing reasonably well, Lukaku missing a few good chances and them beating us 1-0 from a moment of Hazard magic. The only win in years at that swamp needed 2 red cards in our favour even under Fergie. They seem to have the same hold over us that Pool have over City at Anfield.

Didn't replace him with any better though really did we? He was easily the best winger in the league for about 18 months. People forget that. He really put it together during the back end of Fergie's time.

Didn't replace him with any better though really did we? You can rose tint Nani into a world beater but barring a couple of spells he was never consistent. And was a frustrating liability when not on form. Sad fact of the club now is you're correct. We haven't upgraded on him, but that speaks to where we are as opposed to his level.

Sadly, these fuckers could play their reserves against either the 99 or 08 team and still beat us at this shithole.
Vile fixture, vile club. Annoying that this is the game just after the Newcastle result. Maybe we might get a nice surprise and earn a draw.

I struggle to think of a single right winger better than Nani, that we have had at this club in the past decade . Seriously, I can't think of even one.

I heard Mark Bosnich on the radio this morning and he said he fancies us in this game.
Don't know personally, mainly because our recent record is so lousy there but we'll see!

Hate the fact this is our first game after the international break. The 2 week break usually fills me with optimism and excitement but I know with this fixture its going to all come crashing down again.
