I heard Mark Bosnich on the radio this morning and he said he fancies us in this game. Don't know personally, mainly because our recent record is so lousy there but we'll see! This shower of shite took our Fa cup off us . They certainly weren't the deserving winners. If that doesn't spur on our shower of shite I don't know what will.

I struggle to think of a single right winger better than Nani, that we have had at this club in the past decade . Seriously, I can't think of even one. I struggle to think of a single right winger we've had unless you consider Zaha.

The grief he got was unreal. Didn't replace him with any better though really did we? You can rose tint Nani into a world beater but barring a couple of spells he was never consistent. And was a frustrating liability when not on form. Sad fact of the club now is you're correct. We haven't upgraded on him, but that speaks to where we are as opposed to his level. If Nani was consistently at his best he’d have gone to Madrid for the £80m. That aside, we most certainly haven’t upgraded on him, and currently don’t have a winger fit to tie his boots. Perhaps people’s visceral opinion of Nani needs to be remembered before calling Jose all manner of things because he won’t anoint Martial as the second coming.

Martial in his first season was probably as good as any season Nani had. I don't know who's to blame for form the last two seasons but he was a hell if a talent. If peak Nani was dropped in our team now though he'd be our best player.

So, Martial has had one season where he reached peak Nani levels of inconsistency, and that’s deemed success, yet actual Nani was pilloried for it? We’ve had one actual winger consistently strike fear in the hearts of defenders in the 15 years since Beckham left? One.

Just pointing out that Mattial has serious talent.

Wow! The total lack of activity on this site shows the level of apathy that we have descended into...
When I just looked, there were only two members online and one of them was me!!

Some have their privacy set to private, and only staff can see if they're online or not. The lack of posts in any thread is more telling.

i remember Nani scoring an absolute wonder goal against these, in the league cup I think it was, to then fuck about with it in the last minute for us to lose. completely summed him up that game.
anyways, im going hiking in the lake district instead of watching this. never done that before. i cant bare wasting a chance to enjoy my weekend for these again. they need to regain my trust and support.

I have become a huge fan of international breaks this season. Used to hate them, but watching football without the suffering is very appealing

If peak Nani was dropped in our team now though he'd be our best player. There was one season not long after Ronnie left where Nani was just so good and contributed massively to our results. Martial has potential but as of yet isn't at Nani at his peak imo. He would replace any of our current options at his best. I can overlook him kicking it into row Z over some of the hair tearing performances of our current bunch.

In 2010/11, Nani got 10 goals and 21 assists. Following season he got 10 goals and 15 assists. That was fairly consistent form for that period in my opinion.

I have become a huge fan of international breaks this season. Used to hate them, but watching football without the suffering is very appealing I think it's mostly because the international breaks aren't disturbing a positive run of form this season... on the contrary - I sort of looked forward to them so far, hoping that once the break is over the team will play decent football.
