Match day thread record since the start of last season: 9 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss. Draw and loss both vs. Chelsea. Clearly I am an excellent omen, though not even I can overcome the bastard's hold on us.

1. That we had the same defense for the previous two seasons, when we had the second best defensive record in the league.
2. That defending is not the responsibility of the back four alone. 3. There are teams out there that have better defensive records than ours this season yet you wouldn't want us to sign any of their defenders. I gave one example from one end of the league table, but there are quiet a few other examples unfortunately. What you did not read but I'll take the opportunity to add is that if the manager practically says in public that his defenders are cack it is unlikely to instill confidence in them to make the situation any better.
I also agree with this. You can often look at another area of the pitch besides the defence when we concede a goal. Even yesterday with Smalling's thick as fuck challenge, people were pointing the finger at Pogba, should Smalling have been put under such pressure in the first place? For the most part we're a side who do look pretty solid defensively but it does have a habit of getting extremely chaotic back there when we get put under pressure. As mentioned I think a leader at the back could go some way to fixing that but unless you're buying a completely new Chiellini/Bonucci standard pairing, it won't fix everything.
Agree with that first bit. If people are allowed to count "pre-assists" and whatever other shite I've seen emerge from the hype machine (read: Arsenal and Liverpool fans, mainly), there should be a pre-goal-clusterfuck category as well. Very often it's these that lead to the calamitous defending we tend to associate with United's current defensive lot. Pogba's style has seen him be party to quite a few those this season, it's part of how he plays the game but there are better places on the pitch to pull out the tricks.

My record in Jose's first season was pretty good, I did the semi final game against Celta Vigo away and we never fucking win in 🇪🇸. My only dud was the Chelsea FA cup game when Herrera got sent off but it's clearly obvious were are cursed there. Didnt do as much in the second season and my one and only this season was the Newcastle game which is yet to be beaten for entertainment value!

Makes sense coming from them. Can't remember which player but he was a bit of a flop, at least to begin with. They countered it by saying he had a tonne of assists assissts they no one was counting.
