I'm not going to be as fickle as to completely change my mind on Mourinho because of a good run of 4 games in the league. What I will say is that we're going in the right direction. Need to keep it up. The other thing is the players never quit on him either. Even in the shit show against Spurs they at least fought for him. Nope, definitely not. If there was as much disharmony in the side as has been suggested we'd have definitely seen it in that Newcastle game. No way we come back from that if they're not giving everything.
It's why he should probably give his players a bit more love. At least they've not completely downed tools on him like those fuckers at Chelsea did. |

He's also letting the players out on the pitch do the talking for him in terms of possible signings as well. We've played good attacking football in the last 4 league games (for a half anyway) and we've conceded shit goals in all those games which have made getting the results more diffcult. It goes much further in proving we need a leader at central defence than playing McTominay in there does.
I actually think the majority of our central defenders are good enough to be at the club. The issue is that none of them are in that very top echelon or are leaders. Which means that none of the current pairings are good enough.
I'd be quite happy keeping hold of Smalling, Lindelof and Bailly/Jones, then bring in that top level guy for them to play alongside. You'd probably see a marked improvement pretty sharpish from them all if there was a real leader alongside them as well.

Also all I'm reading now is how Matic is getting abuse for not wearing a poppy on his shirt...
1.Its not rememberance weekend this week.
2.He isn't wearing one for personal reasons.
3.Who fucking cares, seriously. If people wish to not wear them then that's their choice, they shouldn't be scrutinised for their choice.
Fuck I hate those generation of people being offended by literally fucking everything. Fucking melts.

I still think one of the issues with this is how soft we are in central midfield. Matic has been so poor this season but there isn't really a ready made replacement on the bench to come in for him. I actually think a DM should be right near the top of the list in terms of recruitments now.
I'd actually drop him for the next 2 games and play Herrera instead. I know Fred was off the pace a bit today but it's only his 2nd start in a while, Matic has been poor all season.

My grandad fought in WW2 buts it's right that people are allowed to have their own opinion as long as it remains respectful. |

Forgetting about Fosu-Mensah, a player who I have a feeling won't get his chance here but a player I'm pretty adamant should have done. As a midfielder as well.
Even if he does come back next season it'll almost certainly be as a right back but I think anyone who saw him in the youth would say he looked like a potential beast of a defensive mid and that is where his future should've been.

MOTD doing a good job highlighting how good Sanchez was today. Made some superb runs throughout the match, many of which were either not picked up or the pass into him wasn't good enough.
Done more than enough today to keep that spot through the middle for the next few games at least IMO.

Smalling has finally turned me. I backed him but I agree he is thick as pig shit now. Off in the summer or he can stay as the final resort back up in the squad.
Herrera needs a run in place of Matic even though he is Mourinho's man. Changed the game today and Matic is hampering us in midfield at the moment, he's aged 5 years over the summer.
Martial FC.
Sanchez had one of his best games for us, play him centrally for now and Lukaku can maybe come off the bench every now and again.
