Forgetting about Fosu-Mensah, a player who I have a feeling won't get his chance here but a player I'm pretty adamant should have done. As a midfielder as well. Even if he does come back next season it'll almost certainly be as a right back but I think anyone who saw him in the youth would say he looked like a potential beast of a defensive mid and that is where his future should've been. At this level, his call retention is too poor for midfield. It’s RB or nothing at MUFC for him.

Obviously pleased it’s getting better, and particularly that Martial is getting to prove his worth. However, there’s a long way to go before we are the real thing again. It was Bournemouth people, and we struggled to beat them.

Herrera did more than enough to start against Juve. And it has to be in a 3 man midfield.

He's only 20 now, if he'd been playing in that role for the last 18/24 months, learning the position and such, there's every chance he would've improved that part of his game. He really did seem ready made for that midfield destroyer role IMO.
I'm pretty confident he'd be providing our defence with more shielding than Matic is able to do at the moment at the very least.
As I said he probably won't get his chance here now anyway, even at right back, let alone DM. So we should definitely be adding a new DM to that shopping list.

I only saw bits and pieces but to echo most- Matic looks like his race is run. Maybe he can get re-energized with a decent break but I doubt it. I’d be adding a CDM to the list for next summer.

what the hell has Pereira done to Jose.
this lad needs to play or be involved next game. he wasn't anywhere near as bad as what matic has been recently.
we absolutely need to tie Martial down.

According to one of the rags, the mental wage we gave to the artist formerly known as Alexis Sanchez is being used by DDG and Martial as a base for demanding more cash than that which has been offered.
I think the expression is Ed has been ‘hung by his own petard.’
The utter clown.

Excellent news if true. I would be delighted if it's cash that stops DDG from signing a long-term contract. Unfortunately, it's "according to one of the rags" which means made up bollocks

Matic needs a rest. But I’d rather him on crutches than McTominay. Whisper it quietly, but we need fellaini back. Then an all out assault on signing Ndombele. On a positive. We’re so close to being a mint side, I can taste the hole in Polos. Do we though. Really? Nothing I have seen in our last three League results says that. A rotation for Matic, yes. That should be Pereira though.

When was the last time Periera got a decent amount of minutes?

I think the expression is Ed has been ‘hung by his own petard.’ The utter clown. We all saw this coming even when we thought/hoped Alexis would be at his best. Even if he had been, De Gea would have still been justified in expecting to match his wage, given his quality in the past 6/7 years. He absolutely deserves it quite frankly. The fact Sanchez has usually been our worst player (I know he did much better yesterday, but he has a long way to go still) means several people have legitimate complaints that the club must deal with.

I don't even blame DDG and Martial for using that.
if I was working with someone on double my wage and I was performing far greater than them id want a massive pay rise.
we have set a very bad precedent on this and a very dangerous game
