Its not all down to Lukaku though. The service he's been getting (or lack of) has been just as bad. Can't expect a striker to score goals if he doesn't get the ball. That being said his finishing has also been a problem which is on him. Still think he's more than good enough to turn it around. Maybe a stretch out of the spotlight will do him the world of good. Fingers crossed. Even when he does get the ball, he tackles himself. The Belgian Fellaini. |

I only saw bits and pieces but to echo most- Matic looks like his race is run. Maybe he can get re-energized with a decent break but I doubt it. I’d be adding a CDM to the list for next summer. I agree, but think about this. He buys Matic who lasts one season. He demanded a new contract for Fellaini and bought Fred. We have to buy another CM now, which is always difficult. Classic example of why we need a serious DOF |

That's probably were we are going wrong as a club tho recently, if the players looks likes he past it we should be replacing but instead we keep them at the club and wonder why we are not progressing. Matic looked fucked last season and this season you can really see it, if his legs have gone he's only going to get worse. |

That's probably were we are going wrong as a club tho recently, if the players looks likes he past it we should be replacing but instead we keep them at the club and wonder why we are not progressing. Matic looked fucked last season and this season you can really see it, if his legs have gone he's only going to get worse. If then yes, writing the guy off after a dozen games is a bit much though. Time will tell. |

Matic is where he is right now because he has had no rest whatsoever for the better part of a year and a half. The blame for this lies a lot on the shoulders of Mourinho. Matic is class and to say he's past it after 11 games is peak armchair punditry. He was , arguably, our second best player last year.
He needs to recharge and regain some energy . We have Fred, Pereira and Herrera to deputise midfield. It's absolutely mind boggling that he is played week in week out. Mourinho has to show some faith in the others I think . Matic deserves that rest. Sadly, I think he will play against Juventus and City , his performances will probably not be upto mark and he will be derided again.
