So having poked a hornets nest with my thoughts on Rashford . I haven't seen a thread on here on this but on other sites. So here are mine. Feel free to disagree.... and provide your own. We are more likely to win the CL than get top 4 this season. Zidane won't be manager here. We won't sign anyone in January. I actually think Dave might leave. England will win a tournament with Southgate.

1- true. 2- probably true, he has more sense than to put up with Ed. 3- not true. 4- not true. 5- Is that Toulon thing still going?

There's something not right with Dave this season, I think the World Cup has been a kick in the nuts. So many times he was rumoured to be signing a new deal and then nothing. I hope im wrong about the January transfers.

I fear you're right about January transfers. I don't even want to think about Dave leaving, but I can't say I'd blame him if he did (as long as he doesn't go to another English club).

A few opinions that may get a lot of disagreement (though some may not be as unpopular as I think):
- Since he left Inter Milan, Jose has had more seasons of failure than he has had seasons of success.
- In 15 years we could easily be sweating about City matching our 20 titles - that is if Liverpool haven't already caught up.
- I'm not that bothered about the next manager having won a lot of trophies. Obviously I'm not ready to pick someone from the lower leagues or something, but if they've elevated a club beyond where they should be, play great football, have a good record in the transfer market, and have experience managing big names in big competitions, then I'm at least interested. So someone like Pochettino or Favre would certainly interest me (not saying they're my first choices). Our last two managers have won more than almost anyone in the game and yet they've both been behind the times whilst they've been here.
- I'd like to see a statue of the Class of 92 outside OT. Whether it's just G Nev/Giggs/Scholes, or including the other 3, I don't mind.
- I'd still love to sign Griezmann if we got the chance (but I doubt we will). I think we can all agree the debate we used to have over whether he or Alexis would have been a better signing has fallen in his favour.
- I think Real Madrid are going to struggle (by their standards) for a couple of years because Perez is totally disinterested in engaging with the realities of the current transfer market.
- I think the Spanish Big Two dominance of the CL will come to an end this year, and I fear that means one of our arch rivals will win it.
- Whilst I don't think he should stay, I think Darmian has been a bit harshly treated here, because he's been played on the wrong flank so often that he's not had much of a chance to establish himself on the right, which is where he was supposed to play.
- Jose is obviously much, MUCH better than Moyes, but the disaster against Sevilla was the one time I considered him to be Moyes-esque. It was just so atrocious and predictable, particularly from a manager whose style is supposed to excel in European knockout games.
- We've played an essentially wingerless formation a few times this season (4-3-1-2, though admittedly the two strikers tend to drift wide) and I think it's suited us. I'd like to see more of it. I know our traditions, if we have any, are wing-based attacking play, but for now I'd just settle for attacking play, and almost every attacker and forward thinking midfielder we have prefers the middle anyway.
- DDG at his peak is probably the greatest goalie of all time. It's a travesty he hasn't won more with us and quite frankly if I were him I'd be looking to move to Juventus or another continental superclub.
- If we signed Ronaldo in the summer (not saying we'd have had the chance) we'd win the league. By himself he can make that big a difference.
- Guardiola wouldn't win the league with our current squad, but I think he and several other managers would do better than Jose is right now.
- If we passed on Toni Kroos - and honestly I don't believe he would have chosen us over Real anyway, but if he would have - then it was our biggest transfer mistake of the past decade.
- Assuming we didn't pass on Kroos, then Alexis may take that title, because his wages have really fucked up our structure and if it leads to Martial, DDG or anyone else departing then it's been nothing short of a disaster.
I'll probably think of some more later.

Agreed on Pep, and they are only 1 ahead of City now (6 vs. 5). But I'm more concerned about City's overall strong structure (a world apart from the crazy world that Chelsea has always been since Roman came), and their money is significantly more than Chelsea's, so I see them as the bigger threat.

The difference with City and Chelsea is that Chelsea are reliant on one man, the team behind him come and go and have done. City's biggest strength and their difference is the football brains behind it who were at Barca imo. More chance of those group of individuals getting bored than the one putting in the money. Will they go when Pep does? He's obviously very good at what he does. There is a risk that the next bloke doesn't do so well regardless. City are still heavily reliant on 3 of the players Mancini bought who pretty much play every game. They haven't missed De Bruyne but I can imagine they'd notice no Silva or the other 2 not playing every game. Mancini doesn't get enough credit for some of his transfers. Look at the difference between Gill and Woodward. The latter isn't a new kid on the block anymore. Thats my straw clutching anyway!

Agree with everything except us winning the league with Ronaldo , city is scoring goals almost on will , i dont think Ronnie by himself will be able to bridge that gap , certainly not with the way Jose usually sets up the team and a midfield of matic and fellaini/herrera supplying him

Why would pep leave city , at the moment its like playing with cheat codes on when you are managing city. No place for that talented academy player in your first team , ok sell him Dont like the clubs fan favorite goalkeeper . sell him Dont like the new keeper you just bought, sell him too Dont like the entire back 4 , sell/sideline all of them , buy new ones Fantastic coach , but right now he has a board backing him with unlimited cash and a license to take risk and even make mistakes. No other club (other than PSG) can offer him that. And the financial doping also ensures their best players get such ridiculous wages that there is no risk of losing them to Real or Barca like we or liverpool do.

Agreed in the long run, though most reports say he prefers City to those two as a manager because they let him do whatever he wants, much moreso than the other two where he had to answer to people above him more. Apparently he has near total control and Txi Bergestein (spelt very wrongly) is basically there to make his will a reality. Apparently he loves that and so he's happy to stay a while longer. If he stays until the end of next season then he'll already have matched his time at Barca.
