Business men with a profit first mentality. Pool spent 200 million and are probably going to end up with no league trophy. What motivation is there with these owners to try and compete with City now? "Business men with a profit first mentality." You think?? Hardly groundbreaking. It was pointed out when they took over. Like a lot of things that are being treated as new ideas now. At the time it was drowned out by those that only looked at what Fergie was winning. I got fed up with arguing on another forum with fans who argued that Fergie had money to spend when it was obvious that the debt was crippling the club and the money wasn't there. I don't know how many failed managers it will take for some fans to get it.

292 million in 4 years really isn’t that much anymore. With hindsight yes. But then try buying the likes of Alli for such a knockdown price now. End of the day, people are still talking as if Poch has built them with no money. Clubs will sell to Spurs cos they know they aren't rivals. United will still be charged a lot more for the same players. Good luck if you are expecting United manager Poch to pick up players for Spurs prices. And that is before you get to the expectation. He can't lead spurs over the line for a simple league cup. You think he is going to do anything with United with 1000x more expectation and focus on every little thing?? I have no idea mate but i just know the Jose experiment is coming to and end sooner rather than later. Who would you bring?

Jardim & Zidane are top of my list though. But then i don't trust Woody to appoint the right man either way, so it doesn't really matter anyway.

Aye add Pogba's value to it and thats over £200m royally pissed up against an electric fence. And people wonder why he wasn't given more during the summer

If the money is there then why do the owners only sack managers when CL is no longer possible? Look at how long Moyes clung on when it was obvious he was completely out of his depth. Van Gaal lost how many games in December in his second season and got knocked out of the CL in an easy group and then getting knocked out by Pool in the EL, oh and the awful football to boot. Then Jose obviously wasn't backed in the summer and he's had the hump ever since. But here we are stuttering from game to game with the owners seemingly happy to cling on. Fergie obviously had his wings clipped when it comes to transfers. His last team was obviously long past it's best.

I can't see Zidane touching us with a barge pole. Jardim Allegri Conte Simeone Can't see the next bloke not being one of that list.

Some improvement on what we have already, ffs.

Forget about top four, as I said a while back I'd genuinely be happy if we finished outside of the Europa League places just to give a possible new manager a chance, and to avoid the nightmare of Thursday nights/ Sunday games next season.
As far as Jose goes, it's pointless to try to defend the indefensible as far as he's concerned.
At this juncture, the definition of insanity is keeping him on and expecting a different result. Just not going to happen because cautious defensive football is ingrained in him.
Agree with Stew, Ed needs to be fired from a cannon and the Glazers need to fuck off.
Problem is these things aren't going to happen until it becomes a financial/ commercial decision, with partners looking to drop us and the profits being affected.
Although at the same time, if we stay stuck in mid-table nothing-ness, trophyless, then the partners will be tempted to pull the rug from under us.
Why would you want to be associated with dire football, mid-table nothing-ness as a partner??

There are easier jobs to take than this one + the DickEd running the show. Zidane will take an easier option imo and I wouldn't blame him either.

Zidanes people have actually had conversations with Ed. And laid out his terms. So he obviously hasn't dismissed it.

Good for you if you think managing Madrid was an "easy job". Between himself and Ronaldo leaving, everyone is seeing just how easy things are at Madrid.
