I would be amazed if Zidane came here for the reasons I've stated. Good for you if you think managing Madrid was an "easy job". Between himself and Ronaldo leaving, everyone is seeing just how easy things are at Madrid. I didn't say it was an easy job I'm talking about the job he picks next. Plenty of rumours that Juve want him, so where would you go , to us and having to deal with the idiots running the club or one which has won how many leagues on the bounce and doesn't have the same baggage as this one does? I'm not saying I don't want Zidane here but that there are enough reasons for him to swerve us.

I agree with what Stewart said earlier, we just need new ideas.
I genuinely think the majority of United fans would be patient with a new manager if he was trying to implement positive attacking football.
Saw an article during the week which said when you actually look at it, we brought in three of arguably the most defensive managers in world football in Moyes, LVG and Mourinho.
Also, saw a good phrase saying that we're like a ship that has its anchor down permanently.
For a club of our status, everything post-Fergie has been fucking ridiculous. I knew things would be bad but I didn't expect us to be in the mire as much as this.
I can remember the 70's, 80's as a United fan, an FA Cup now and again but that was it. We're sleep walking into that again by persisting with this bollocks football from Jose.

He also didn't have that DickEd to deal with.

Madrid are waiting for United to sack Mourinho, saving them having to pay United to take him.
So that's 2 clubs who have written off this season already.
Fun

His sides in the past have played some utterly beautiful attacking football.
I don't think our performances under him were down to him wanting us to be more defensive, they were partly down to him not being able to properly implement his "filosofee" and partly his "filosofee" being outdated, particularly in this league.
I still maintain he was forced to play Rooney and if he had his own way he'd have binned him off (for Eriksen if rumours were to be believed) and we'd have maybe seen a different and more productive LVG's United.

Funnily enough I actually think out of the 3 appointments so far, LVG was probably the most well thought out. It just didn't work.

You think we’re better than them? Or that he hasn’t done it with half the resources? Either way I disagree. He had spent 292mill as of April this year. You lot talk as if he has built Spurs on 5s & 6d Last i looked, we have still won more under a "finished" Mourinho, than Poch has managed with a "due to win anytime now" Spurs. Give it a couple years under Poch it will be "playing well is one thing, but we aren't challenging" £419.49m spent by Jose in his 3 years (not includings ales). £184.59m spent by Poch in the same time. Of course that’s not all Jose’s fault. But that’s a huge, huge gap. (Stats from Transfermarkt) Also - it wouldn’t be good enough, but Poch playing well and not challenging > Jose playing shit and not challenging. Also, for the record, I have Jardim right at the top of my list, same as you.

I think that Leicester game was a kick in the nuts. I don't remember the football being as boring prior to that. Looking back to when Spurs beat Chelsea heavily in the season Jose won the league, the second half of that season they seemed to stutter over the line, the general quality declined somewhat. 2 games for me which seemed to change the way both teams had approached games thereafter.

LVG is the one I like the most - more for his press conferences than anything. I like Jose too though. I think both were excellent managers past their prime (LVG more than Jose but both nonetheless).

Which i have been through with FGUAW in the PL thread & have no intent to reproduce

Aye, I've never been a fan of Mourinho but not because I doubted his managerial abilities because he's a cunt. I was more than happy for him to become our cunt though, with the thought that he could crack and go full Jose eventually but ultimately because I believe we're his dream job and he'd be incredibly determined to make a success of it.
Unfortunately, for the most part we have got absolutely nothing of the old Jose. In fact, it's really only been the last few weeks, particularly the Newcastle, Chelsea and Juventus games where we've seen a glimpse of who I wanted him to be for us.

I liked Van Gaal. His transfers were generally rank though. His bizarre elevation of Rooney was his downfall. Sold off all his competition and had we not signed Martial right at the end of the transfer window we would have been in even more shit. Moyes was an utterly bizarre appointment. I remember reading somewhere that when Fergie was first rumoured to be retiring and they were considering Sven he was miffed. Even Sven after Fergie would have been a better option than Moyes. I think Fergie was blindsided by Moyes. No other explanation I can think of.
