I was chatting with a Gooner mate this afternoon who has a massive hate on for Jose after his Wenger bashing/defensive tactics/Arsenal mauling over the years. Even he was salivating at the prospects of giving us a hiding on Wed. All I could muster in our defence was that this was going to be ugly; either the score line, or our tactics. Interestingly enough he said their ‘resurgence’ was down in part to Emery coming in but also in large part to Gazidis leaving and allowing Emery to rebuild the side in his image. I realized that I have now gone from hating them, to patronizingly respecting what they stood for, to being jealous of them. I cried inside. from all the top clubs in the league, id rather them win the league than us. they've always gone about playing football in the correct way and they haven't funnelled a shit ton of dirty cash through either. but still, I want to win tonight but I cant see how we do it. not looking forward to this at all. im not rushing home for it either

He won't want to get smashed at home tonight, so it's going to be everybody behind the ball, which means Arsenal are going to dominate In possession.
But the most important aspect of this game is how is this guy still in charge when we're 19 points off the top with a negative goal difference in December.
He'll be hoping we get away with it tonight but we won't.

First United game in 32 years to not feature either Fergie or Wenger.
3-1 United.

Call me crazy but it's still a game I feel a certain level of confidence in, we seem to have a hold over them, particularly at home. They haven't beaten us here in the league since 2006.
Tonight's game will give a clear indication of how far we've fallen (as if we need one) and how much they've improved this season.
No doubt that if it goes to form they beat us but I have a sneaking suspicion we'll turn them over. 2-1 United.

Even LVG managed to beat this lot at home with a half-makeshift team IIRC including Rashford who had made his senior debut three days earlier. They're better now than they were then but they have big troubles at OT and we should in theory be making that continue.
Of course, in theory we shouldn't have a negative goal difference.

I wish I had some excitement for this, but there is a 99% chance this will be the same old dross we've been watching all season.
I don't think Arsenal will even do an Arsenal and put in a shite performance, so I'm expecting a 2 or 3-1 loss.

Difference is Arsenal do pass it forward.
When it comes to backwards, sideways football, we're all over it.
I agree with alt, expecting dross again.

i missed the palace game. watched the young boys game in the background. missed the soton game on purpose and spend the time with my girl. i dont know if i should watch tonight and that thought alone hurts. i'd rather spend the time gaming and growing my stream. but i also dont want to miss out on a game against arsenal...this is so fucking painful, the indecisiveness hurts a lot

More bluster, controversy and deflection as always leading into the game!
They have only lost 2 games all season, to Chelsea away 2-3 and City first two games of the season. We will get behind the ball and I reckon a 0-0 or 1-1

This is probably the most supporter apathy I’ve ever seen with United. Even under Moyes the mood was slightly better because we knew he was out of his depth and the squad needed rebuilding. I know the manager has his major flaws but the players need to be giving more.
