It's fucking tragic. Another young life lost to the knife culture in London.
14yr old FFS, someone's young son, possibly someone's young grandson and possibly some young ladies first love. This country needs to start getting to the root of this and getting it fuckin stopped. If I was in charge I think I could stop (greatly reduce) it, so what the fuck is wrong with the folk who are in charge!! Its how his country is going, that's the problem. Soft as fuck with all the PC pish. That lady MP outside parliament the other day being hounded and subjected to dogs abuse with no protection! Outside parliament I say!! This country needs to buck its ideas up and rid itself of much of this PC pish.

The fuck has 'PC pish' got to do with knife crime? Generational poverty and disenfranchisement is the root cause of a lot of crime, especially in inner cities. The bulk of the wealth and opportunity being funneled to the people who need it the least is the problem. Dumb fucks being manipulated into hating other poor people, while ignoring the fact they're being robbed blind by the people who hold all the power is the problem.

I live in America, where over 30,000 gun deaths happen annually. Knife attacks are horrific but it could be so much worse. At least there's no such thing as getting hit by a stray knife, or drive-by knifings. Not making light of the attacks, but it's so much worse here.

Edit: Rest in peace to the young man who was killed.

I also don't understand the anti-PC sentiment. Here, being PC on this issue would mean the person wanted gun control or guns to be gotten rid of, period. The gun rights/2nd amendment/NRA advocates are the enemies of PC thought. Is it the opposite there?

Apart from the temptation for people to knife those that are overly unnecessarily PC but in this instance I agree it is absurd.

If I ever caught my little lad with a knife on him when he's older I would shop him to the fuzz myself.
all you can do is try and bring them up the right way, I know it's harder when you come from a really poor area these kids see these so called gangsters with loads of money ect and they want it, education is the only way to try and help, jail time and obviously the risk of getting killed doesn't deter these kids from the gangs. But then again some don't want help and this is the life they want anyway

You lot might think I am talking out of my arse but it comes from a genuine anger that such young folk are losing their lives so needlessly and the effect it has on their families. and communities in general. By PC shite, what I was trying to say is that these young folk are growing up into a fearless culture with no respect for life and there is obviously no suitable deterrent in place, as it just keeps on happening.
1. Given the scale of it now (regardless of the fact that it may have been previously abused) the police should not be deterred from stop and search powers and it should be embraced by all cultures in order to halt this
2. I think its time to start considering a life for a life policy if the law catches up with you on this crime. These deaths cannot be considered mistakes (oh, I only meant a small puncture). If you carry that weapon you know its potential and in my opinion most of these cases have full intent.
I myself was raised in a tough environment (as I am sure many here were). Never would I have considered this crime to be in any way acceptable and never would I have expected to see it become so common place.
Its truly awful, the crime against such young folk and the knock on effect it has. If that's talking shite, fine, you carry on. (I didn't hear you proposed solution).

What happened to the 14 year old is awful but we were a lot more lawless previously. I grew up in Belfast and spent the majority of my adult life in Glasgow. Things got better in my life time, not worse. I'm sure some areas have remained just as bad as they were in the 70s, 80s, 90s but many are better. I could go and grab statistics for you, but I know Glasgow alone has reported an incredible drop in knife crime over the past 20 years

There seems to be a culture of hopelessness around the capital.
Maybe it's a combination of several factors?
A sense of lawlessness?
Poor role models?
A dominant culture of drugs/gangs/lack of respect for the laws?
I know poverty is often cited but poverty isn't just confined to London. Why are we not seeing similar patterns of violence in other big Cities? Manchester had years of trouble with gangs around Hulme and Moss Side so it's not immune from such issues!
