Thought Lingard did the job asked of him well in the first half. He tired badly early in the second. It's a pity Sanchez wasn't fit. I think he could have been a good like for like for Lingard against Spurs. Rashford looked knackered by 85 minutes. That’s the match I watched. Lingard put in a shift and did a lot of the grafting that disrupted the Spurs midfield. I wonder how much will be left in the tank for this one based on how much was expended during the Spurs match, especially after how knackered they all were second half. While I don’t want to see it, I wonder if Ole might opt for Lukaku/Mata and a slower more methodical approach to this one. They aren't on again till Saturday I imagine they'll be fine. Be different if there was a midweek game sandwiched in

Nearly went with Jesse, but he was poor yesterday, IMO. Plus Duffy and the other lad at centre half are big bruisers, Lukaku can dish it back out. souness (as big of a nob he is) made a good point about us going to Dubai. said it takes a lot of you with the traveling I can see where that comes from but they fly in absolute luxury and can sleep in proper beds, it's not as though they have to rest scrunched up in their seats with their noses in their neighbour's armpits and their feet crammed into a space the size of a tissue box like the majority of the rest of us, is it?!

It could give them all jet lag at worst, but yeah first class flying makes that a bit easier!

Imperative we keep picking up wins. Arsenal vs Chelsea this week, so a chance to close the gap on one or both. Though I thought Brighton gave a good account of themselves vs the Scouse, our momentum and feel good factor should be enough to see us through. My XI De God Dalot Big Vic Jones Shaw Pogba Herrera Matic Mata Rashford LukakuMartial Bench something like Romero, Darmian, J-Lingz, Fred, Chong, Alexis, McTom, Lukaku I like your lineup but I'd play Mata with Rashford played centrally. Don't expect we'll have to do as much running at them for ball recovery, might be better to hang onto it longer and use it more creatively. We win 3-0. Don't see how or where Fred and/or Alexis are going to get minutes. Fred seems to not have the defensive side down and with Pogba in form we need 2 mids to cover for him. I don't think Fred is the man for that job. Might rotate Lingard, Mata, Alexis, but would not put Alexis ahead of Martial or Rashford. Our next 4 league matches are against teams not in the top 6. If OGS is not going to deploy Fred and/or Alexis as starters against those, you'd think it's curtains for them.

I’d seriously forgotten what it’s like to wish your life away waiting for the next game to come round quickly!

Can afford to make a few subtle changes without it affecting us too much. Dalot in for Young, Mata in for Lingard and perhaps Pereira in for Herrera or Matic.
5-0 at least please.

I would keep more or less the same team as Sunday. Maybe Jones out for Bailly - Bailly doesn't deserve an immediate return after his stupid red, but Jones hasn't impressed me at all in his absence and we don't have many other options right now.
I'd keep Lukaku and Alexis on the bench. Mayyyyybe Alexis for Lingard. It's more a case of the attack is really clicking, so why change it? Jesse missed a chance on the weekend and wasn't fantastic on the ball but his runs and occupying of their centre backs whilst Martial and Rashford made runs were important, and I'm not sure Alexis or Lukaku would replicate that in the same way.
But most importantly, win and win well as revenge for that absolute shambles against them at the start of the season. That was a dark day.

Think Mata will start in this one. I'd be happy with that, especially if it's part of a charm offensive for a new contract offer. I want to see how he can do when he has lots of runners in front of him, particularly if he's central - that's what he is best at on paper. If Jesse's role of occupying the centre backs and making decoy runs isn't needed vs. this lot, Mata coming in could be ideal to exploit Rashford and Martial cutting in and Pogba steaming past him from midfield.

Bailly, Lindelof, Brighton... no need to bring back those memories, man! Fucking hell, that was brutal
