If this game unfortunately goes as expected, I just want one thing- either Young or Dalot cripple Di Maria or failing that Alves.

i have just rewatched the second leg of the 99 semi final against juve for the billionth time. it still leaves me in awe, even after so many times. the way we came back, keane`s performance, the quality of players on both sides, the tacklings, the physicality of the players. i know this sounds stupid but it just makes me miss the old days of football.

It was a wonderful time. you know its that "always was better in the past" stuff. but it was wonderful, not only as a united supporter, as a football supporter in general. so many legends who played back then, fantastic teams, great personalities and proper physical football. not to forget a ref like collina. those were great times for football

Player power, agents, commercial priorities, players falling all over the place.

Not just the trophies but the way we had to win them. The league went to the final day and we had to come back from 1 down. The FA cup gave us that comeback against the vermin and the unforgettable semi against Arsenal. The fightback against Juve and Ole's immortal moment in the Champions league were the gilt edged icing on a spectacular cake. Nostalgia plays a part, sure, but let's not kid ourselves that it wasn't the greatest time to be a United supporter.

A quick reminder.
In 99
We played Pool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Newcastle in the FA cup
European cup
Barca and Munich in the group stages, Inter, Juve and Munich again . Notable players in opposition. Inter Ronaldo, Simeone, Baggio Juve Zidane A. Conte, Deschamps, E Davids, Inzaghi, managed by Anchellotti.
Compare that with the piss takingly easy run City have had in their quest for the Quadruple!
