Fred was behind him and had no chance of getting the ball, any attempt would brush him the way it did, and Lacazette felt it and went down. Fred should have had better positioning and when Lacazette got the inside on him he should have not made the challenge. I thought Fred was shit today, I know some on here disagree. Yeah? It was and never will be a penalty. |

Also, I don’t give a shit about the penalty or the referee. We should have won regardless.
The people we have to blame are Lukaku and De Gea - but De Gea gets a pass because he saves us a lot more than he needs saving.

It’s not a penalty. Positioning, angles, inside etc won’t change that. You don't give the ref the chance to make that call. It was a soft penalty but still an error from Fred. It was an error from the referee. |

Every time I warm to Lukaku he lets me down. I don’t think he’s going to get more consistent. You’re clinical or you’re not. I don’t think that can be learned. A good striker scores at least once today, an excellent one gets 2. The pressure is on to an extent in a top 4 race but it’s nothing compared to a real title race. If Lukaku can’t deliver right now you know you can’t trust him when you’re trying to win the league. |

Killed us.
Thought Fred was good,only time seen matic
Sprint was when he was subbed..
Can't believe we didn't score in last 15 mins of first half..

Fine lines today DeGea fucked up and Lukaku failed us, it had to happen now we must respond with a win, Rashford should be dropped and needs more coaching in his decision making, Fred looked ok, Pogba had an off day.

I'm sorry, but Ole and his team has been absolutely wrong on Matic and his positioning. Might as well stick Andreas on. Tbh - I think this was the major downfall - in our formation. - We exposed our back line and the goal that, yes, De Gea had mis-read without having a solid midfielder to clean up or close down in front of our defense. - That was a free shot which De Gea shouldn't even be saving. - Ole should have either gone a more offensive line with Martial or even Andreas in to pin them back, or swap back Scott in. - Matic is not first-team material for what we need in the team formation. - Pogba has been out of form, but we need him to keep playing to come back to form. - Lukaku should have buried at least 1 of his 3 chances, but 2 of those were good close-down saves by Leno. - Rashford was off-pace since the Liverpoop game, and perhaps time to give him some bench time to rest off with Martial back. Overall - good run, sad that it came to an end here (of all places). We need to dust ourselves off, rest up and look ahead to the next game. |

We're two points off fourth with 24 points to play for.
In my view, I can't see Arsenal really sustaining a real challenge to get in there- first goal today was freakish and the second wasn't a pen.
With Chelsea, they're really inconsistent.
Problem is it's looking like we'll probably have to beat City at home which could well give the title to the Scousers!!
