Colette Roche on Mason Greenwood Manchester United chief operating officer Colette Roche spoke to The Athletic about the Mason Greenwood situation.
The outcome of the investigation has not been announced. But Roche was clear to point out that the decision will be on Manchester United, and not any external group or sponsors.
She said: “We’ve done a really detailed and thorough internal investigation and we’ve asked as many people as we can around what happened and try to understand it beyond the original investigation done by the police.
“You’d expect us to engage with people who were relevant in terms of stakeholder groups. And now we just need to make the decision. That decision is firmly a decision that’s on us.”

Utd statement
Manchester United statement on Mason Greewood 🚨🔴 #MUFC
“Following the dropping of all charges against Mason Greenwood in February 2023, Manchester United has conducted a thorough investigation into the allegations made against him.
This has drawn on extensive evidence and context not in the public domain, and we have heard from numerous people with direct involvement or knowledge of the case.
Throughout this process, the welfare and perspective of the alleged victim has been central to the club’s inquiries, and we respect her right to lifelong anonymity.
We also have responsibilities to Mason as an employee, as a young person who has been with the club since the age of seven, and as a new father with a partner.
The fact-finding phase of our investigation is now complete, and we are in the final stages of making a decision on Mason’s future.
Contrary to media speculation, that decision has not yet been made and is currently the subject of intensive internal deliberation. Responsibility ultimately rests with the Chief Executive Officer.
Once made, the decision will be communicated and explained to the club’s internal and external stakeholders.
This has been a difficult case for everyone associated with Manchester United, and we understand the strong opinions it has provoked based on the partial evidence in the public domain. We ask for patience as we work through the final stages of this carefully considered process”

Only positive is that the club have albeit late finally put something out. As they have stated, they have finished gathering the 'facts', now to make a decision.

Whether you agree or (most likely) completely disagree, the moment those charges were dropped he was coming back into the side.

Make your decision and then put a statement out, this is just a waste of breath and only riles people up.

Lovely how the owners have ensured the whole world knows the decision was made by Richard Arnold! If he doesn’t like it he can take his golden parachute and fuck off. If he’s still there he’s ok with it so fuck him.

"We also have responsibilities to Mason as an employee, as a young person who has been with the club since the age of seven, and as a new father with a partner."
Sorry but his time at the club or the fact he's just become a father are completely irrelevant to this case. The club have a responsibility to do the right thing and set an example. Allowing him back is not that. They can fuck off aswell wording it to make him sound like the victim here.
The morals of this football club will have hit an all time low if they allow this. I can see a huge backlash from this aswell if it does.

If you’re looking to football to set standards for society then you definitely need to look elsewhere. Football now is all about profits and winning. The club statement sets the stage for Mason Greenwood to return. You may not like it and you may not like him, but he has the right to continue his footballing career whether the cancel mob accepts it or not. No person deserves to be pushed down and kept there especially when the law has set him free. Whether he continues at United or elsewhere, I hope he does well and betters himself as a husband/partner, father and footballer.

Its not about cancel mobs either. Its about right and wrong and being held accountable for your actions. Of he's allowed back then what message does that send to youngsters supporting the club? Add to that it'd a huge spit in the face by the club to any woman or even man that been victim of DV and has let had any justice themselves.
