I kept thinking “we’ll get going soon.” And then it was over. A strange one that, didn’t seem much enthusiasm for the fight. Ole has to prove himself now, how will he react? Drop under-performers or give them another chance to put a terrible performance behind them?

As much as we have every right to moan, bad form was always going to happen. Happening at the wrong time and in 2 massive games. Issue is the pedestrian I can’t be bothered level of bad form, it’s not on

It was bad collectively right through the team and coaching staff, we'll see what Ole does next and until the end of the season to see if he deserves the job.
It's like being in a game of snakes and ladders watching United, very frustrating.

Watching last night, you can see why Jose was red Perisic. Martial’s inability to take a man on the outside, meaning he has to pass it to Shaw is infuriating. Also, the lack of any genuine quality in an attacking sense down the right was glaring.

Couple of thoughts after last night
Could see there was no one on our bench to change the game if required. May have been worth holding back Martial or Lingard given they aren’t 100% yet.
We really struggle to break down teams who defend deep with men behind the ball. This is generally why results have been better away from home. We look so much better when we look to contain them break. With litttle space to attack Tony, Rash and Lingard are too easily nullified.
Their opening goal was painfully soft. About six players had the opportunity to put in a challenge.
First time someone attacked with any real purpose we scored.
Whole team looked knackered even after a week off. The PSG game seems to have tired everyone out mentally not lifted everything, kicking us on.
Ole has earned the right to address this side shortcomings and if he gets top 4 this would be a massive achievement given where we were when Jose was sacked.

It’s frustrating because if he doesn’t Ronaldinho like dribble in between the opposition he’s never just going wide and whipping it in.

It feels like we have just blown our chance of stopping Citeh doing the quadruple... We'll do that in Madrid.

No he doesn’t show up every game, not even going to pretend he does. He’s not Keane, not close. And maybe if we are in a position whereby we have talent like that of Keane’s throughout the side we can think about replacing him. But as of now we are nowhere near that and whatever it says about us Pogba is probably our best outfield player so I think he’s one of the last we need to look at replacing. Ah, so Pogba gets a pass because. So, this time next year when the lads can't be arsed (again, in plenty of cases), it will be "thanks Ole but no thanks" and the players get another free pass. And then excuses get made to give the players another season to sack another manager. Yippee Where did I say he gets a pass? I said he’s way down the list of things that need to be fixed, not that he was irreplaceable. You are advocating selling your best outfield player because he’s too inconsistent. In which case you have to replace him with a player who does the things he’s capable of (City away last year, Spurs and Chelsea in the Cup this year) week in, week out, or else you’ve weakened your team significantly. With who exactly? Who is going to produce those types of performances every game? There is literally only one I can think of, De Bruyne and we haven’t a hope in hell of getting him. So who are we replacing him with?

Also, the lack of any genuine quality in an attacking sense down the right was glaring. Martial drove me mad last night. I’m a big fan but when you see both himself and Rashford perform like a couple of brats (which will happen occasionally with most young players) you wonder if an experienced player in the forwards might be necessary. I suppose Sanchez was supposed to be that guy before he retired from football.

The international break will hopefully help galvanize. I just didn’t think we were still capable of those types of performances like last night. Obviously we are unfortunately. Ireland did something similar in the rugby yesterday, produced a performance so inept it was like all the progress made in the last few years was a mirage. It can happen in sport I suppose, just bloody awful timing in a cup game from a Utd perspective.

It's crucial that we win our next match (whenever that is). Hope these fuckers don't get too comfortable and let Ole down.

The lack of a Realy top class squad is what is hurting us now, we need a very good summer of recruitment with top quality additions all over the team
