Martial effects games ( though not as frequently as he should) but in the game last night it was easy for Barca to nullify him. If you can get the game and stomach watching it, you’ll see he was doubled or tripled up on because they had no fear of Young in an attacking sense. Same with the other side. I know this was exacerbated by Shaw being out but from here on in I want to see Shaw and Dalot start every game they’re available for. At least teams will have to be honest. I'd rather see andreas and mctominay starting in midfield for for the remainder of the season too Neither are good enough & neither is Rashford. The best finishers live off chances like Rashford had 30 seconds in last night,if Mc T had a better first touch,it should have been two inside the first few minutes. Instead both chances are wasted,20 mins later,Young does the unthinkable & we out of the ECL. Ole has to take some responsibility ,he was less than 20 feet from a dithering Young & should have been directing him to play forward,Young still dithering then gets in a compounded mess, when Lingard comes short asking for the ball, which should have been Rashfords heads up to make a run forward, ball should then have gone into him. Instead Rashford decides to also drop ,no forward ball option for Young because Martial has also already dropped,so from a free kick close to 1/2 way,an attacking chance goes tit's up & we concede. Basics that we could all see.

Also, Ed is so useless he doesn’t even use the ‘big club announce player signing after losing Champions League tie’ card. Both Bayern and Real successfully used it this year. If Perez was in charge of Utd Bruno Fernandes would already have been announced this morning.

I don't get you? Am I supposed to say Ajax weren't good enough ? Pogba or Miki our goal scorers?

im struggling. really struggling to be optimistic about anything atm. unless there is huge huge changes in the summer were going to be having these same arguments next year. and the year after etc. why did lindelof.. our best CB play RB ? doesn't make sense. why did Young play instead of Dalot. Young has been awful for months now. Dalot might not be the finished article but he isn't on youngs awful level. why cant Martial get into games or effect games. has he improved since we bought him? Everything decent comes down that side. Our right side is non existent. We are easy to deal with tactically. Look how we went to pieces in the first PSG game, our game plan was shot once we got some injuries. Amongst our many priorities are RW and RB. Why on earth Ashley Young plays ahead of Dalot now god only knows.

INDEPENDENT
Ashley Young made 5 mistakes in 30 seconds that led to a goal in what was a horror first half.
Manchester United started brightly in the game hitting the cross bar and dominating the opening exchanges.
Despite being on the front foot in the first 15 minutes, they conceded in the 16th thanks to a series of mistakes by Ashley Young.
The Manchester United skipper made a whopping five mistakes in just 30 seconds and ended with De Gea picking the ball out of his own net.
Young’s indecision while taking a free kick back to his centre back started things off. He then had a pass intercepted, failed to clear his lines, ran into trouble and finally missed a tackle on Messi.
Barcelona’s star man nutmegged Fred before placing the ball into the corner of the net past a helpless De Gea.
Young started this game at left back due to Luke Shaw’s suspension having come under fire in the first leg.
The Englishman lost the ball an incredible 32 times and failed to find a team mate with 11 crosses in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford.
United went in 2-0 down before half time, thanks to a horror error from De Gea, and it was 3-0 when Coutinho buried a shot from distance in the 2nd half.

I didn’t bother getting up early to watch. I was eventually woken by kookaburras laughing in the tree outside my bedroom - I reckon they’d seen the result, the WUM’s!

Young has been subject to racial abuse on social media apparently. Disgusting, no place for that. Direct all that hate and venom to Ed.

The biggest fuck up for me in all of this is that for this 'major rebuild', we are entrusting a manager who has no managerial experience at the top end of the game, and has achieved fuck all of note since he started managing.
That's not a jibe at Ole either, as he's only done the job he's been given, but I can't help but think this will be yet another bad appointment that will not end well.

Too early for judgement on Ole really.
Problem is the fucking goons within the hierarchy and the Glazers not giving a bollocks. As Stewart alluded to earlier, they'll be continually sending the profits over to the States.
Same shit hierarchy-wise, different day.

Thats my worry also, i think he put good people around him and thats played a huge part. With OGS im not sure if its blind optimism on my part but i think theres a 50/50 chance it could go tits up. This clubs a mess and its a big job for someone with no experience at this level.
