Just a reminder, whilst we were being wank, the Ajax team that we brushed aside in the Europa two years ago reached the semi. Amazing how much our paths have diverged since that game, when both teams had a lot of reason for optimism. Both of us have largely similar squads to then as well. That’s only a compliment for one of the two teams... Who really won that game :/ Well us.

Can’t help but think we’ve become the worst versions of ourselves ( as posters) when you remember the positivity a few months ago. This season was always a scratch lads. Let’s hope for top four and more importantly give Ole a summer to have a look.
On the bright side we stopped Neymar and those cunts buying a champions league. Hopefully Spurs follow suit.

The problem is the owners and the management have no idea how to run a football club. They can run a business but from the football side of things without fergie they have stumbled from one disastrous decision to another.
This is now a vicious circle , top players want champions league football and a settled successful club where they can win trophies.
We are unlikely to get champions league football or win trophies short term. So the only way we get decent players is to pay through the nose and what we end up with is a squad of mercenaries who don't give one shit about the club
Also no disrespect to ole but is he going to attract top players. That I don't know. But for the club to announce his appointment early looks now to be a poor decision again
A change of ownership, philosophy and a shit load of cash is the only way we can turn this tanker around. If not the Saudis then someone else we need to chuck these fuckwits out of our club or we will become liverpool of the last 30 years.

As I said last night, we got slapped around by Barca but from Ed's perspective our club App is brilliant.
Once the latest paint sponsor is in the bag etc then his conference call to our investors is sorted.
Also as I said, likes of Rojo and Darmian are on 60K per week, Young bags 110K per week they have zero incentive to go anywhere.

Squad needs serious work, but I honestly like the way Ole wants United to play.
Top class CB, CM and fullback to start with and then we still need quality in depth.
I know qualifying for the CL and finishing top 4 is really important, but I'm getting a little tired of qualifying for the European Cup only to be irrelevant when it matters.
It's been like that for me ever since we lost two successive finals against this lot without meaningfully changing the squad.
Sell the dross and let's move forward.
Just for some balance - we really did look dominant in the first quarter of the match, we just needed to take our chances.
Messi's brilliance (Read: Young's absolute inadequacy) and De Gea's aneurysm killed the tie.

Exatly my thoughts. Ole needs a full summer transfer window and a new season and even then it's a tough ask because we have slipped badly. He wants to play the football we want to see and for me that's a big step in the right direction. I have to hope we can do it without Saudi money because, as I've said numerous times before, that will absolutely be the straw that breaks the camels back for me.

im struggling. really struggling to be optimistic about anything atm. unless there is huge huge changes in the summer were going to be having these same arguments next year. and the year after etc.
why did lindelof.. our best CB play RB ? doesn't make sense.
why did Young play instead of Dalot. Young has been awful for months now. Dalot might not be the finished article but he isn't on youngs awful level.
why cant Martial get into games or effect games. has he improved since we bought him?

Martial effects games ( though not as frequently as he should) but in the game last night it was easy for Barca to nullify him. If you can get the game and stomach watching it, you’ll see he was doubled or tripled up on because they had no fear of Young in an attacking sense. Same with the other side. I know this was exacerbated by Shaw being out but from here on in I want to see Shaw and Dalot start every game they’re available for. At least teams will have to be honest.

Rashford needs to get some finishing lessons also. He looked like he had worked on that when ole first came in, now he's back to his wasteful best
