Not read the thread, but has Rashford taken any pelters for today. He was as bad as anyone else. For a young lad a Manchester lad playing for Manchester utd his attitude is piss poor for me, he's got bags of talent but he doesn't half piss me of sometimes if real or Barca was daft enough to pay 150m for him I would sell him

I say it every week, but they’re all cowards. They’re all too happy to hide. There’s not an ounce of bravery in any of them. That to me was a trademark of the successful United teams under Fergie. Now, whether we need better leaders to bring it out of some of them, or whether they all just outright don’t have it, I don’t know. But right now there’s no fucking courage in any of them. There’s a whole lot of “I’d like to buy him for what he’s worth and sell him for what he thinks he’s worth” players in this squad. Sadly, we’ve done it the wrong way round with most of them. You’re inclined to spare Dave a bit because he’s been excellent for years, but that doesn’t excuse the lack of professionalism in ceasing to concentrate and give a fuck because you’ve not got the deal you’re demanding. And when you’re wearing the armband too. But when the rot has reached Dave, you know you’re in fucking trouble, because he’s still been exceptional during each and every crisis we’ve had in the last 5 years. And there’s been a lot of them. We know all about the two Chuckle Brothers at CB. We’ve watched them for far too long. Rojo is the type of character we probably need at CB. A proper cunt. Unfortunately he has no footballing ability whatsoever. Bailly doesn’t have a brain, and outside of his good start has looked like a jumped up Kolo Toure on a mad one. Lindelof would survive the cull, and quite rightly should be largely absolved of criticism today, although worth noting he played a lot of games at RB before joining. I think Darmian is shite, but would agree with Tatty that if he’s on the payroll, he should be the one being utilised as he is a specialist RB. Young isn’t worth mentioning, Dalot and Shaw would survive, although I’m still not fully sold on Shaw. Matic is finished, and it’s not good enough for him to be coming out and blaming himself. That doesn’t make a difference to anything. He’s an embarrassment of a player. Barring covering a fair bit of ground the last few weeks, Fred has looked fucking shite. He’d maybe be given some benefit of the doubt what with him walking into an absolute disaster of a midfield. Ander is brave, but isn’t a United player anymore. Pereira looks out of his depth whenever he features. Mata looks like a 45 year old legend playing in Soccer Aid who has kept himself in reasonable nick in the decade since he retired. Pogba might be the biggest coward of the lot of them. A luxury player. One of them you have to carry. But you accept carrying a luxury player when they turn up and change games every week. Pogba doesn’t do that, and he flat out doesn’t give a shit. Martial has been barbaric of late, and everyone is probably running out of patience waiting for him to fulfil this potential we’ve all banged on about for years whilst letting him off for his inconsistency and laziness. Lukaku wasn’t a United striker from the moment we bought him. We’ve never played with big lumps. And with his attributes, he should be Drogba. He should be bullying defenders. But he doesn’t. The warning signs were there when Daley Blind physically dominated him in 3 games in one season. Rashford’s been just as bad after his initial resurgence under Ole. Wasteful as fuck. Selfish. Petulant. I think he needs separating from Lingard, like two naughty kids in the classroom. One always has more talent and the other one’s dragging him down. Fuck that clown off somewhere else, make Rashford stand on his own two feet. I don’t even know why I still care enough to waste my time writing all this after the last 5 years. The players certainly don’t care that much. I should’ve just wrote “We know that the players have to improve but words mean little: we have to give everything for this club” and left it at that. Some good points there unfortunately. However, I’m not sure what more you could want from Shaw to convince you than what he’s offered this season. He’s been excellent and probably the best LB defensively in the league. Because he’s Scouse and therefore a media darling, Robertson gets the plaudits and is great going forward but I think Shaw is better as a defender. And he’s probably our POTY. Now I’m sure there’ll be plenty of ‘that just shows you how far we’ve fallen etc’ but I don’t think it’s merited. Shaw was the one player along with Vic and Dave to have consistently high performances week in, week out. And Dave has nose dived recently.

Apart from the PSG game everything has been shit since we played Liverpool. I think it's a simple as fitness issues. Our pre season was a joke and it seems like we've completely run out if gas. I think it could be that simple. The players did a lot of running after Ole came, very little before that. I think they are shot. Not an excuse for them because our mentality sucks too, I just think that's why the collapse is happening. I think you're absolutely right. Remember the Spurs and Arsenal when the likes of Lingard and Rashford were chasing everyone like mad dogs. Even Lukaku never stopped running when he played on the right at Arsenal. Ashley Young is 33 and played tons of games over the last couple of seasons, including the WC in summer, and looks like he needs to be shot to put him out of his misery. A good pre-season and a major cull which should rid the squad of passengers before Ole can be judged. He got the permanent job prematurely, but now that he has he deserves to be judged on his squad and the miserable collection that he inherited.

Not an excuse for them because our mentality sucks too, I just think that's why the collapse is happening. I made that point a couple of weeks ago in a long post. The WC year and a really shit preseason, with Mourinho not really giving a shit for the most part and we played a sluggish defensive slow game. We started playing a really different tempo from December in mid season and it eventually caught up. We couldn't keep that tempo up from where we started with the players we have. We had a sudden boom in injuries and the legs are gone on most of them. I was also saying we were effectively in a treble run 1.. Big catch up and run for top 4 2.. FA cup run with really tough away games and 3.. massive CL games We don't have the squad for it and some players were really found out. It's not an excuse either, but it highlights some players are just nowhere near in shape or too old. It's a bit of a learning curve for the coaches too, because they now know a lot of these players are not athletic enough for that type of game and the squad has no real depth. In no way does it excuse some of the basic quality deficit and attitude, but at least they know now

What did Ole say in his presser after the game? Apologised for the performance. Promised to be successful at United. Said some of the players will not be part of that success.

Angel Gomes, James Garner and Tahith Chong were among those who, like Greenwood, impressed in the last Under-23s outing - a 5-0 victory at Newcastle United.
Inject some energy FFS
I might be shot but I would play Sanchez instead of Lukaku. He looked lively in the Barca game and he actually does try

I actually disagree with the assessment of Robertson, I think he’s well ahead of Shaw in both departments. I think Shaw has been decent this season, but no more than that. I do like him, but I feel like I do want to see further improvement from him next season. It’s not a position that massively concerns me though looking through the team.
