At this rate you might aswell have called this thread "United summer signings".
I am looking forward to seeing how the lad gets on though.

Seems like a genuine lad....just hope he doesn't turn out to be an "Insta Diva" like JLingz and Pogba....He should stick to hanging around with Luke Shaw perhaps....he seems to have his head screwed on and isn't all about the fame!
Get your head down and work hard son and they'll soon be a song for you in the Stretty End.

Daniel James makes early mark at Manchester United – on and off the training pitch
The Times
For some Manchester United players, pre-season tours are not always enjoyable experiences. They invariably involve long flights to hot sweaty locations, tame friendlies against weaker opposition and double training sessions under the sun.
Then there are the numerous public appearances to satisfy the club’s fifty-plus sponsors and their huge fanbase. Some like that aspect of touring, others do not.
In 2009, a fed up Paul Scholes sent a number of United fans in South Korea running for cover when, after an open training session, he blasted a ball into the crowd with all his might.
When a staff member told Scholes: “Be careful, you might hurt someone” He replied under his breath: “I don’t care.” Scholes was an exemplary professional but he had had enough of the heat and was annoyed with an injury he had picked up. He wanted to go home and he did so the next day.
United’s present tour of Australia may be only five days old, but there are already signs of tour fatigue among some players. After yesterday’s 90-minute training session at the Waca stadium, the players embarked upon a lap of appreciation to thank the 12,000 fans who had turned up. They were desperate to get autographs and selfies with their heroes so they shouted to the players and beckoned them over to the stands as they passed by 40 metres away.
Paul Pogba signed a few autographs for one section of the crowd but by the time he got to the other end of the pitch he just waved and clapped a couple of times on the edge of the pitch as he sauntered past. Daniel James, in contrast, stopped for every United fan who wanted his autograph and posed for numerous selfies with too. The 21-year-old winger spent about 20 minutes with the fans. He was the last man off the pitch, which will no doubt have gone down well with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who also signed autographs for fans after the training session.
It is safe to say that James is making the most of the opportunity that has been given to him after an incredibly difficult summer in which his father Kevan died at the age of 60. On Wednesday, James spent time chatting to Jhye Richardson, the Australia seamer, about cricket after United’s training session at the Waca, which is being used as the squad’s base after it was turned into a football pitch. James played cricket for South Cave Cricket Club near Hull when he was growing up. He also passed his initiation with flying colours, singing Follow Me by Uncle Kracker while stood on a chair in front of the rest of the squad at Silks restaurant.
The reason why James is embracing life right now may be down to the fact that this was very much an unexpected opportunity.
Speak to those who know him and they will tell you that he was not anticipating that United would come calling for him this summer. True, he thought now was the time to move on from Swansea City after five years at the club but he was expecting a middle to lower ranking Premier League team to sign him.
Some questioned whether United should have spent £15 million on a player who is yet to play in the Premier League but there is logic behind James’s transfer. “We want players who can get us off the edge of our seats and he has a real X-factor,” Solskjaer said. The Wales international will do that. He has incredible pace. Anyone who witnessed his remarkable solo goal against Brentford, in which he ran 84 yards in 8.4 seconds, knows that.
The Premier League is a step up of course but his technical skills will improve in time given the expertise that Solskjaer and his staff have. The coaching staff are understood to be pleased with how James has acquitted himself in training since the squad landed in Australia and he will make his first appearance in a United shirt when Solskjaer’s team play Perth Glory in the first of their four tour matches on Saturday.
James will get game time too this season because of his versatility. His favourite position is on the left wing but he can play centrally or on the right too. The fact that Solskjaer intends to play youngsters in the Europa League means that he is likely to feature in that competition too. The United manager said on Wednesday that he expects James to be “chipping in with goals” — an area where United struggled last season.
What is for sure is that no one has made as big an impression on Solskjaer as James has since the players returned to training at the start of last week. “Daniel has already set the marker and the standard on work rate and attitude in training,” the United manager said. “It’s been a delight to see.”

about time a professional footballer at this club actually appreciates being a professional footballer and at this club.
TBH I don't have great expectations for him this seasons. i think he will show glimpse's of nice work but overall i think his technical ability will let him down at times. which is fine as hes learning still. theres no reason he cant be getting at defences winning penalty's and free kicks in dangerous areas though while getting in at the back post for some easy finishes, similar to what sterling has been doing all his career

Even if he only comes off the bench or plays cup games, we will definitely get a bit of entertainment put of this lad. Fast as fuck. Could end up being key late in games.

He looks like he can improve his game by adding facets to it. More importantly, looks like he wants it. Bad. I'll take a hungry footballer with a point to prove..
