4th is more than doable because outside of City and Liverpool the rest are either inconsistent or marginally better than us. I dont buy the argument that Arsenal have a better attack, we have talent upfront, the question is can they remain consistent. Big season for Martial, theres no one standing in his way right now after Lukaku was sold. I expect Rashford to play up top all season.
No doubt Ole has his hands full but its an opportunity for him to prove how good a coach he is.

It was a disappointing summer but we won't be as bad as the pundits and experts think. Actually from what I've heard the pundits are more positive than most of the fans. And I don't think we'll be terrible, its just frustrating we didn't push the boat out and secure top 4 with 1-2 more good additions. Agreed some have been more optimistic of our chances. This first 8 game under Ole is what gives me hope. We played a high pressing style with pace and it worked but it took too much out of the players who were clearly not fit enough under Jose.

Guess I’ll nail my colours to the mast and have a good laugh at myself in May. A lot depends on injuries and consistency obv but if we can stay relatively injury free I’m going to say 4th. Ah to hell with it, Ole’s a genius...3rd. It’s only Spurs.

*Waits for people to change their pick to first* I picked 6th and I'm not changing for now. Still worried about our midfield. But that was a hell of a win, and if it gives them a confidence boost to go on a run, and maybe get ourselves settled inside the top 4 early doors, then it could be difficult to shift us over the course of the season. I'd feel much better if we aren't having to chase a spot.

*Waits for people to change their pick to first* I chose 4th. Might need to change it to 3rd now 😂

Shows how fickle bookies are. That 40/1 for us to win the league has entirely disappeared now. Best priced 33/1 with sky. Most of the others now have us at 25/1-28/1.

All the cunts who voted below 8th blow my mind hopefully we get our midfield together before we face Man City, because if we had faced them today, they probably would've blasted 10 past DeGea, and the Below 8th Brigade would look like sages.

Would like it on record that though all my realism, I had first as my pick from as soon as the thread was made.

I'd feel much better if we aren't having to chase a spot. I'm sticking with 5th, squad is still thin & injuries will happen. I think what's undeniable now though is that Ole does know what he's doing. He just won't always be able to implement it properly until the squad is complete.

I have no real basis for this opinion but I feel Ole may use his squad in the Europa League, particularly in the group stage. Not saying he won't try and win but I just get the feeling he'll prioritise the league.
If he does we probably won't win Europa but I feel we'll comfortably get top 4. We're better than Chelsea and Arsenal despite the Arsenal signings. They struggled to a dreary victory over a shite Newcastle team today. Their main problems still remain.
Do think we're capable of surprising people and finishing even higher as well (not an overreaction to today as I've said it before).
