Each to their own mate. Not trying to argue with anyone just think its a bit bizarre to start panicking when there's 30 games left and we're 2 wins away from the top 4. Granted we're struggling in front of goal but with players coming back that's not going to remain the same for the remainder of the season, something will give. Nobody is trusting them toget anytbing right I just think with 30 games to go people are being a bit over dramatic. If we were halfway through the season and we were a few points off the bottom three with a bigger gap above us then maybe start concerning but not when there's 5 points separating us from 4th. It’s not just the start of the season. Our form was dreadful at the end of last season as well. It’s an alarming trend. Personally I don’t think it’s a possibility but I think there’s a very real concern that we finish from 10th-14th.

Spurs also haven’t won away since the Bronze Age. Watford, Sheffield Utd, Newcastle and Burnley should be relatively safe then

Firstly, I don’t think we’ll get relegated this season, however it’s worth looking at some of the other sides that said the same thing.
West Ham went down in 2003 with a squad containing their talisman Di Canio, a better goal scorer than we’ve got in Defoe, Joe Cole the most exciting young talent in the country at the time, Carrick who was a better midfield prospect than anything we have, Lee Bowyer who was solid and had done very well for Leeds, David James who was very experienced, Freddy Kanouté who had some great spells during his career and probably some other decent enough players I’m forgetting about.
Leeds went down in 2004(?) with Robinson, Ian Harte, Viduka who was an excellent player when it wasn’t freezing cold, Alan Smith, Nicky Barmby, Matteo, Milner, Batty.
Middlesbrough went down in 1997 and as a man who unfortunately lives near Teesside now, I’m often reminded that the squad contained Ravanelli who I think scored 20 odd goals all comps, Emerson, Branco, Bryan Robson who admittedly probably barely played, Juninho who was a superb little player, Mark Schwarzer, Gianluca Festa and some other solid Premiership players like Curtis Fleming and Phil Stamp. Think that side finished runners up in the League Cup that season too.
All of those teams contained some players who would walk into our first team at the moment. Now, again, I don’t think we’ll get relegated this season, but I’m not sure you need sectioning for questioning the possibility of it.

Name 3 teams that are worse than us. It’s a lot harder than you think.

Name 3 teams that are worse than us. It’s a lot harder than you think. I think you are way exaggerating. We are very far from good, especially when it's relative to the standards that most United fans still hold the club for, but if the team we fielded vs Chelsea can stay mostly fit throughout the season we can at the very least finish in the top 8-10. Our problem is that our squad is too thin to allow us to be competitive, because our strongest XI are capable of maybe challenging for the top 4, but with 2-3 key players out we really have nothing good to offer.

So 2-3 key players being out has done us? Key players being Pogba and Martial? Yet we sold 2 midfielders and 2 forwards with no replacements . Yet some of our fans were over the moon when we moved the deadwood on. Looks like that was a premature celebration after all. We’ve won 4 out of the last 16 PL games which has carried on from last season. This is down to more than just a thin squad.

We are in a very poor way at the minute - I don't think any true United fans/supporters could disagree with that statement however - That said , there are as other posters have correctly pointed out , there are far worse teams in the Premiership than us and over 38 games , it is just impossible to feel we are going to be Relegated
Look , I know this Forum should not be an advertising board for Betfair or other Exchange Betting Sites but anyone who wants to back United to go down can do so with me - I will , happily , take your money and cover all liabilities !

But a number of those ‘deadwood’ are better than what have now. The only deadwood was Darmian.

Yeah this nonsense is being spouted a lot lately and it's infuriating. Nobody was wanting to get rid of all these players with no replacements. The proviso was on improving on those positions. If I knew we weren't going to get another body up front then I absolutely wouldn't have wanted to sell both Lukaku and Sanchez regardless of how little I like them.

this 100%. give me lukaku, sanchez, herrera and even fellaini back any time if that means no one else is coming in. who in their right mind would even think like that? well, seems that we have those kind of people in our club. but accusing some of us of celebrating when they were gone is just wrong accusations, because that is not what we expected.

Well there were rumours of a 100 million transfer limit floating around, I remember it being mocked but after selling Lukaku it was actually less. The club are clearly tightening their belts , which begs the question would it have been better going for a RW, a midfielder or a forward instead of another LW and spending a wad on Maguire?

Out of the top 6 If Pogba gets inured then lower half of the table. Our midfield is shocking and we’re selling a striker with no replacement. If there’s no managerial change I’m going for unlucky 13.
