Manchester United will have an extra £75million to spend in the January transfer window with proceeds from the sale of Romelu Lukaku reportedly made available.
The Belgian striker was sold to Inter Milan earlier this month, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have his coffers boosted if he needs to bolster United's top four challenge, according to The Sun.
Solskjaer spent almost £150m during the summer to recruit Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Daniel James and Harry Maguire.
Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes was a target this summer while they retain a long-term interest in Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.
Flop Alexis Sanchez looks set to join Lukaku at Inter before the transfer window closes in Europe on September 2.
Paul Pogba also faces an uncertain future with Real Madrid hovering over the French midfielder.
this would be great if its true. go buy maddison or fernandes depending on how they both do up until January. would be both available with the right money.
why is Ed swinging his dick telling everyone how much we have to spend again though

I think Sancho is just a wage bump, not an extension.

Real Madrid have reportedly been offered Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
The Portugal international is keen to move on to new pastures after attracting interest from a host of clubs off the back of his highly-impressive campaign last term.
A move to either Tottenham or Manchester United was touted in the summer but a deal never materialised.
Tottenham submitted a formal offer for Fernandes but fell short of Sporting's £64million valuation.
The Portuguese side are now looking to cash in on him with his agent Jorge Mendas telling Real Madrid they can have the 24-year-old if they their demands, according to Diario AS.
Fernandes netted 32 goals in 53 goals and was the highest scoring midfielder in any of the major European leagues.
Madrid think highly of Fernandes but would still prefer to sign either Neymar or Paul Pogba before September 2's deadline.
The La Liga giants will consider a move for him but his potential arrival would only be as a result of a failed deal for their other targets.
Ajax's Donny van de Beek is also thought to be ahead of Fernandes on Madrid's wishlist.
another reason its stupid to close the window before everyone else. we could have picked him up for cheap!

We should have signed Van Der Beek. He’d be great as our No 10. His work rate is just as good as Lingard’s but he actually has quality on the ball.

get rid of the unwanted defenders and get competition for shaw between now and the January market and the defence is sorted. Come summer sort the midfield with the likely departures of matic and Pogba. after that club can really work on the attack, it's an area I think we have enough in at present and if the other 2 areas are fine then really we should be ok.
I am all for a methodical approach to rebuilding, right players in and wrong players out. get what we need and do not settle or rush into anything unless the talent is on the Ronaldo level where you just need to steam in and get it done.

Coentrao is right there. On a free. He's probably not as good as he was, but better than playing Young there. Hell, I'd take Marchisio on free, too.

Hell, I'd take Marchisio on free, too. generally think they are looking at not just bodies but personalities too and fit ones. both names mentioned are decent players but Coentrao especially with injuries and poor form aint one for us, I cant see him getting shaw to raise his game. I really wanted sessegnon, good price and young enough to learn to defend well, he would have ensured shaw really puts in 8/10 performances each game for fear of being dropped. The ultimate aim has to be 2 bodies in each position and like with city bodies that will push each other to keep performing, we have done the numbers game and it hasn't worked well for us.
