Coentrao is right there. On a free. He's probably not as good as he was, but better than playing Young there. Hell, I'd take Marchisio on free, too. generally think they are looking at not just bodies but personalities too and fit ones. both names mentioned are decent players but Coentrao especially with injuries and poor form aint one for us, I cant see him getting shaw to raise his game. I really wanted sessegnon, good price and young enough to learn to defend well, he would have ensured shaw really puts in 8/10 performances each game for fear of being dropped. The ultimate aim has to be 2 bodies in each position and like with city bodies that will push each other to keep performing, we have done the numbers game and it hasn't worked well for us. Understandable, but I'd rather not be doing January shopping, especially when you can pick up players on short term deals, whilst trying to identify and work through deals for better targets in the Summer. We barely signed 3 players in 3 months, I don't expect us to get any actual targets in 4 weeks of Jan.

I suspect we wont get anyone in January unless there is a desperate need or an amazing deal to be done. Top players wont want to be unsettled with a tournament in the summer I think? I still have reservations about the names mentioned, we need people that will be fighting fit and not fighting to get in the physio room as what looks good on paper could be a nightmare. with our track record we would likely offer 3 years deals leaving us stuck

Is Brandon Williams potentially good enough to put any sort of pressure on Shaw this season? Would be ideal if we didn't need to buy a LB in the summer given the need for what's likely to be two top draw midfielders alongside Sancho.

I read something recently suggesting that Brandon would be the competition for Shaw but that hasn't been borne out by the club in its actions...

Keep Sanchez if Inter want to fuck about like this. Also a blast from the past but if we want to provide some depth and competition at FB then why not bring back Rafael? He'd be an upgrade over Young.

Fuck Inter and fuck Conte, that odious cunt.
If we're fucking paying 12 out of 16 million for Sanchez, why send him there ? Keep him.

There was some merit to it if Inter were paying half but a quarter? Ridiculous.

I genuinely believe William's will be ready for the first team by the end of the year. Currently U23s captain. Does make mistakes but he is dynamite.

If they were willing to pay 12 million of his salary then he can go but anything lower is a serious NO. We can use him here. I would have him starting FFS.

Real Madrid have reportedly been offered Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes. The Portugal international is keen to move on to new pastures after attracting interest from a host of clubs off the back of his highly-impressive campaign last term. A move to either Tottenham or Manchester United was touted in the summer but a deal never materialised. Tottenham submitted a formal offer for Fernandes but fell short of Sporting's £64million valuation. The Portuguese side are now looking to cash in on him with his agent Jorge Mendas telling Real Madrid they can have the 24-year-old if they their demands, according to Diario AS. Fernandes netted 32 goals in 53 goals and was the highest scoring midfielder in any of the major European leagues. Madrid think highly of Fernandes but would still prefer to sign either Neymar or Paul Pogba before September 2's deadline. The La Liga giants will consider a move for him but his potential arrival would only be as a result of a failed deal for their other targets. Ajax's Donny van de Beek is also thought to be ahead of Fernandes on Madrid's wishlist. another reason its stupid to close the window before everyone else. we could have picked him up for cheap! chicken and egg scenario. if the PL window stays open, the prices remain high because of the PL Tax. the minute the PL window closes, the prices drop because the PL tax can no longer be levied. we are fucked either way

Apparently Timo Werner has a 30m Euro release clause.
Surely he is worth a look?

Just a thought.
