And at the end of the 4th transfer window players like Matic, Mata, Young, Smalling, Darmian, et al., will surely be done as players. So 4 windows we have to buy not only those 3 or 4 key players Stewart mentioned but also the 4 or 5 other players that fill out the squad unless the idea is all academy graduates. There won’t magically be a window where we only need an outlay of 100M pounds to solve our issues and compete again; every window will have a 250/300M hole in it, and arguably the good players we targeted earlier will be even more expensive by the time they make it through Ed’s vetting system. So yeah, Gaz is full of it. You're slightly missing the point I'm trying to get at.
If we didn't have the gimps in charge in the first place, we'd be able to be operate much better in the market like a proper elite club- with better clued in owners.
Apologies, I didn't really make that clear in my post.
Fair enough. With our without the gimps, my point is we don't get back to being competitive until whoever the owners are spend about 300M in one window, with the price only rising every time they put it off another window. Nev also said (saw it today) that United should sell the naming rights to Old Trafford (!) and use that to drop match tickets to 10 pounds. Someone needs to do a welfare check on Nev.

I'm amazed they havent sold the OT rights already. The cold hearted and soulless businessmen they are suggests to me that they will let OT rot and use naming rights as an excuse to aid their argument that naming rights are needed to help raise funds to upgrade the stadium.

Fabrizio Romano is the first to say that Alexis Sanchez to Inter is a done deal.
I really don't know how to feel about this. Theres a sick part of me that loves the idea of the fire sale but the rational part is thinking "Jeepers he cant be any worse than Jesse"

But we now have less forwards than before so the only reason this makes sense is if he was causing trouble in the dressing room.

Theres a sick part of me that loves the idea of the fire sale but the rational part is thinking "Jeepers he cant be any worse than Jesse" I’ll admit that I’m slightly conflicted about this. Part of me is happy to see the back of him but if we get injuries to Martial and/ or Rashford we’re effectively dependent on a 17 year old kid up front. Mason is hugely talented and seems like a genuinely good lad but we really have a wafer thin squad now.

Out all seriousness I am giddy that Mason will get his chance. Maybe Chongy too. But I am worried we made an insane mistake. Again.

Even when he’s gone, his wage structure is still hanging around our necks. This lies at Ed’s door for putting him on that insane wage, the remnants of Sanchez will be sticking around like a bad smell in that regard.

Pointless loan. Now not only do we have a failed massive wages player but we have a precedent of paying most or half Sanchez' gigantic wages just to get rid of him.
If we were selling him outright and subsidising part of his wage, there's something in that. Otherswise with all the other surrounding circumstances is just a bloody stupid plan. Especially with an obligation to sign at the end of it. If he does well we can't even capitalise.
