Wolves are decent. Outplayed us twice on their own patch. I think we should have too much going forward for them this time around, but it's vital we wrestle for midfield control early, otherwise it's going to be a loooooooooooooong night.
My XI DDG AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
McTom Fred Pogba
Lingard Rashford Martial
Subs: Romero, Axel, Young, Andreas, James, Greenwood, Matic

Probably missing this one (at least the first half) as I’m going to dinner with my Grandad. Think it’ll be tougher than Chelsea as well.
Their midfield is comfortably better than ours, even if Pogba turns up. We’ll need to rely on counters again and it’s unlikely they’ll be as porous as Chelsea were.
Last week was brilliant, but looking at the bigger picture of a top 4 race, a draw wouldn’t be a bad result here. Not necessarily a good one, but not a bad one either.

Unless Pogba and McTominay play really well they’re probably better there man for man, and even if they do who’s the third person for us? Lingard? Matic? You say Fred, but I still don’t know if Ole likes him at all, and if he does play he’ll have to play well.

Will they have one eye on the 1st leg against Torino later that week? I dunno. I think we'll be more competitive in midfield in this one.

This one is the live Monday night game on Sky.
We definitely owe them big-time for the two defeats we suffered there last year in the league and cup. It would be nice to keep the momentum going after Sunday.
I agree if we can get some grip on the middle of the park it will give us a good chance but we are going to be up against it a bit in midfield this season. That's just a given.

Love the positivity coming from Ole. Doesn't have anything negative to say about any of the players (in public), say what you want about how much truth is in his words but this kind of attitude is much more conducive to getting the best out of the players than saying they're all shit.

We have McTom attempting to clean up and Pogba to play the balls, we're counterin attacking. All season long we'll cede the midfield and hope to kill teams with a quick counter. We have serious pace up front. It's a bit like when we had giggs in midfield and cheech up front.

I think we should win this one, but will really need to be clinical and strong in defence and midfield. This will be different in that they won't be as naive or make the mistakes Chelsea did, nor will they come at us leaving the opportunities to break a lot!
They are better organised in defence and midfield and we will probably have to break them down. This is the kind of team we had real problems with last year, so will be interesting to see what we can do!
I don't think a draw would be a bad result either

We were dreadful in the Cup game but started very well in the league fixture. We were going through that phase of letting our heads drop when we conceded so hopefully that’s been eradicated. That’s where you see if the character is genuinely strong in the side.
I see some similarities between us and the Scouse 13-14 team which came close to winning the league. They were miles behind the year before but their attacking trio came of age and they rode some early momentum through the season. They had some totally undeserved wins early on so hopefully our luck will be in as needed.

The league is weaker now than it’s mid to late 00s peak IMO, but the top is stronger than 5 years ago.

Far better than us last season, with all due respect to Wolves didn't help the fact we decided to down tools and stop giving at shit at that point of the season. We turn up and we should be ok. They rested most of their side last night so will be fresh and up.for it themselves.
Just get the 3 points in this one. No banana skin game please.

Probably going to play 5 defenders with McT dropping back as a shield, Pereiera and a gap where midfield would be, then 4 attackers. Would love to see Garner & Greenwood used. Matic & Mata if we need to slow the game down and exert some control on midfield. We win by 2.
------------DDG---------- AWB---Lindelof---Maguire---Shaw McTominay---Pereira---Pogba James---Rashford---Martial
Subs: Romero, Lingard, Matic, Mata, Axel, Garner, Greenwood.
