I'd get fred in alongside McT, push Pogba up and drop Lingard. Done. Crying out for creativity, plus on the many occasions Pogba dilly dallys and loses possession, he will have cover. But Ole, like the managers before him, has a hard on for Lingard. Man, we have an atrocious midfield. Jeez. Just saying their names makes you shake your head in disgust and ask why. You could replace each one and wouldnt even be sad. Fred is worth a go but let’s be honest it’s fucking desperate times when he’s the last roll of the dice.

I can’t bring myself to. I love Ole, we all do, and the best case scenario is he’s been sold a pup and is suffering in a very public way. Because he’s never been a fool and must have known that selling two midfielders and a striker and not replacing them was a disaster waiting to happen. This is why I've not watched it. Gonna hate it but at this rate its inevitable that he'll be the next scape goat that people will eventually turn on. However there are things he can control that he needs to deal with, playing Lingard is one. The sad thing is this is a game Lukaku would have scored in aswell so it's a bitter pill to swallow knowing we've not replaced him. That being said Rashford and Martial need to account for their own shit as well, Rashford in particular. One of the worst games I've seen him perform in. As soon as we won the penalty I called it that he'd miss it aswell. Sods law. Ole was always a long shot. We all love him but hes clearly a tactical novice at this level. He doesnt have the players to challenge for titles but he does have them to beat palace and thats the way i will judge him. The football is one dimensional and if we go behind completely hopeless because pace works in behind teams not in front of 8 players. He needed to change the space at HT, you might aswell play Pogba where Lingards playing. The lingard experiment is over. The guy cannot create or score goals from a central position, making him utterly useless. If you play in that position you have to be effective.

I can’t think of a team that lacked any kind of magic like this team. Even in the 80s we had players who could pull something out of their backsides when we needed it, think Whiteside vs Everton. Now we just go through the motions every other week. We are one of the most predictable teams in the league. After the Chelsea game Neville said that they were idiots to attack us like they did and not sit back. You watch that Palace game today and Neville is spot on. Teams don’t have to do anything special vs us at home anymore.

While I agree, they don't pick the team, choose the formation/tactics and don't make the substitutions. We weren't backed in the summer for a midfielder which sucks but we have to deal with it for the time being, the squad we have should be performing better than it is. He's not learning from his mistakes at the moment and its worrying. Some are simple mistakes aswell. I'd rather use play Rojo on the left than see Young there. Lingard is getting away with countless piss poor performances. Pogba is getting away with everything, he's just going through the paces and not putting any effort in at all. The difference is we haven't really got a replacement for Pogba so he knows he's safe no matter what. But we have plenty of better options for Lingard and we're not using them. I genuinely consider the tactics almost irrelevant, because he has no other choice after Woodward decided midfield is a myth. He can give Fred a chance, but otherwise, what other option does he have? There isn’t a manager in world football who could make a silk purse from the sow’s ear that is this squad. Ole took Lingard off and brought on Greenwood who didn’t do anything. Mata shouldn’t have been given a new contract because he grinds everything to a halt. Perreira vaguely resembles Pirlo in name only and Fred/Sanchez don’t remember how to play football. It’s all well and good to shout about the deficiencies of Lingard, and he obviously has them, but thanks to Ed, that’s the best we got. Not sure what Ole is supposed to do.

If we are better on the counter, let the other team get the ball and come at us.

Yeh our squad isn’t top 4 material as i myself have pointed out but we should have been beating them today.

I just unfollowed the club on facebook. That should send the stock price plummeting.

Some times you hold your hands up and say ‘it was one of those days’ We’ve seen plenty of them recently, usually facing Heaton in goal. It happens, we just aren’t going to get the thing over the line. Today wasn’t one of those days however. The dreadful display by the Ref is masking the ineptitude of our own display in which their keeper did very little of note. That’s the most worrying thing for me. To be this bereft of ideas so early is not a good sign, even though no one is really surprised.

Two missed penalties - score those and we beat Wokves and draw with palace. That might be papering over the cracks but with 2 decent pens we’d be on 7 points from 3 matches.

What Stewart is saying about us being an all round shambles is correct.
We basically shored up our defence, whatever your view on it- we decided to jettison our top scorer- fair enough but we didn’t replace him.
While our most combative midfielder departed, and we didn’t bother our arse to replace him, while we arguably needed another midfielder anyway while Ander was here- which then turned us into requiring two midfielders- which we didn’t bother to bring in.
While at the same time, not addressing the right wing position whatsoever.
The result, a wafer thin squad. We’ve basically attempted to sort out a big wound by putting a couple of plasters on it hoping for the best.
We’re ‘if’s but’s and maybe’s’ FC and that’s before you bring in the total incompetence of the hierarchy and our bungling CEO. It’s just a clusterfuck.

We’re an absolute shambles. Ole can jog on. He’s as much to fault to these crap results as anyone. If he’s going to carry on with Lingard he deserves to be sacked

How long before we have to question whether De Gea is on the decline? These errors are more than just a small blip in form. He's continued the terrible mistakes over into this season. They're becoming commonplace. He went years without barely making any. It's becoming a serious worry for me now.
So little in terms of runners and movements from the attack. They're sitting in deep and it's tough to find space but lets not pretend we're the only team who has to deal with it. You watch City in a similar scenario and all their players are always on the move to try and draw a defender out of position to create some space. Watching us and at one point Pogba has the ball and Lingard, Martial and Rashford are all just stood like statues, none making themselves available. Fuck knows whether they're lazy or just dumb.
