Foul or not on ddg it was fucking shit from him, he needs to be smashing through there attackers with that clearance and punching it down the pitch. Unfortunately, this aspect of his game is bang average Yeah never had that type of presence in the box has he, the days of big pete smashing through players long gone

Expected.
For the emphasis on the lack of creativity (which is absolutely spot on and has to be addressed in Jan) the pathetic inability to keep a clean sheet has yet again cost us points.
Palace, Villa, Everton, Wolves, Southampton, Newcastle, Bournemouth, Sheff Utd; just a couple of shut outs there and we'd be top 4.

Missed the game but this is exactly what i predicted. Any game where we are expected to take the initative always ends up this way. We are just crying out for a midfield player who can dictate the pace of a game like this. Against teams like Everton, you need players who know where to apply the pressure. After Chelseas slip yesterday, we have to take these opportunities and give ourselves a chance of CL football.

Thought we lacked a bit of desire tbh. We could've pushed harder.

I do wonder what they actually work on in training.
Why can’t they pass the ball and move quickly around and in the box. I’m nt having it that these players can’t play that way.
Why can’t they take set pieces ? Burnley have literally based there premier league existence on it.

And after the brief high, our low returns. Talk about Jekyll and Hyde! 😧

The only positive I can trick myself into believing following this game is that it will remind everyone that we need to improve the squad in January.

Last year a friend said to me, “I don’t think Martial is good enough if you guys want to be competing for the league ever.”
It’s plagued my mind since, and I don’t necessarily disagree. I love Martial and what he does when he’s on. He’s unplayable. But when he’s not on or the opponent has us figured out he doesn’t offer anything different to break teams down.
I’m open to Haaland coming in, and currently I think after 55 -60 mins if Martial is having an off day Greenwood HAS TO COME ON. If not just start more often.

Hes one of those players who might have one or two great seasons as a player. In games like today hes way too passive at times. Greenwood is doing all the right things and believe he warrants a start now.

That there is the reason he will not make it at this club. As a professional fucking footballer you have to be on all the fucking time. Did we say "Henry/Zidane/Maradona/Cristiano/Messi/Scholes/Vieira/*random great footballer* was great when they were on"? No. They were great because they were always on. Martial and Pogba can leave and turn themselves on whenever they feel like it at some other club.

He's a pretty divisive player on here, I know some think he has everything it takes to be a superstar, but I'm just not having it. Averages 1 goal every 4 games, both for United and in his career, hardly top drawer. If Haaland is signed, and both he and Greenwood develop as we'd hope, I'd be more than happy to move Martial on. 24 is not a kid either, he's into his 5th season here, he really should be producing a hell of a lot more than he does.

The most annoying thing about this result is its utter predictability...
I reckon at least 90% of us on here could have guessed that we would not pick up three points in this game...it was a perfect storm of Everton with a new manger bounce and us having had two good games in a row...
I have been a fan and backer of Martial since day one but as has been said, he doesn't show up often enough for a top class striker...so he can go along with anyone who cannot be arsed to put in a 7+ out of 10 shift in every match...it's all very well having talent but it means nothing if you don't put in the work...you only have to contrast Ronaldo with, say, Januzaj...or any number of talented youngsters (Ravel?) who just won't put in the hard yards...
So yet again we flatter to deceive...
Corner. Not. Turned.

I know Dave needed to be stronger but that was a 100% free kick and no goal. Preposterous decision.

After watching it back i don’t thinks as bad as initial Reaction with emotion seamed. We had quite a few good chances but we just weren’t clinical enough.
We didn’t have the cutting edge or that one magic player who can unlock a defence. Which we all know and hopefully the club knows. Hopefully this will make the club go buy what we need as it was once again highlighted.
We weren’t our best but I still think we should have won.
There goal shouldn’t have stood and they had no other proper chances

It was an obvious foul that in this particular instance should negate the issue of De Gea's lack of presence in the box. Defenders are not allowed to kick wingers in the nuts just because they didn't run as fast as they could.
