Looks like another Ed briefing. According to Sky, we don’t want to pay £90 million up front for Sancho so are looking at alternatives. The game continues.

Yep, Sky Germany are saying we’re looking at ‘alternative options’ instead of Sancho. Still rumbling on and not having a pop by the way but some members on here are talking about 3-5 players in, when we can’t even put the Sancho deal to bed.?? Might well be a ‘smokescreen’ but it’s a bloody long timeframe. Dortmund again stating they want this sorted by Monday - Saturday afternoon and not a report of an iota of progress regarding this deal. Even if this deal falls over the line - the excruciatingly long time which we’ve dealt with pretty much every recent transfer reeks of ineptitude. I’m sorry, just embarrassing for a club of our supposed status. If there’s zero movement on this tomorrow Sunday, alarm bells will be going off if they haven’t already.

This is Ed trying to control the narrative of this deal. That’s why we heard reports previously that we wouldn’t be bullied into a deal, which to an extent I understand as well. This false deadline is simply Dortmund being pricks, they’ll take the money even if the deal is one month from now or at the deadline. I think we’ll eventually get a deal done but right now the clubs are in the proverbial dirt trying to one up one another thru media leaks.

There’ll never be an easier chance to sign a bona fide superstar and if actual football people We’re in charge they would grasp it immediately. There lies the problem however.

Guarantee if we pull out of Sancho deal we pay something like 70 million for Grealish. It’d be peak Woodward.
Actually, Bale would be peak Woodward.

Bale, Cavani and Thiago Silva all bring quality and experience to a squad that is still young and learning. We believe these three players will take Manchester United to the next level....

Understandable but all the credible journalists re: Romano have said the clubs are having discussions and that a deal of this magnitude is incredibly complicated especially during Covid. I think the moment Romano puts out something negative then I’d be worried.

But Ed doesn’t want to get bullied, apparently his feelings are important now! I think all the journos will be lining up for a big update this Monday, will be interesting to see what happens.

So they have been yammering on BT Sport about Thiago possibly going to Liverpool.
No thank you.
