LINGARD WON’T BE LEAVING MAN UTD Jesse Lingard will not be leaving Manchester United for Tottenham this summer, reports The Athletic. Instead, United are considering activating the one-year option to extend the 27-year-old’s contract to preserve his £25m valuation. Which valuation? The one made by someone certified insane ? That’ll be Ed then...

Has a season ever kicked off with such dreadful fan sentiment in recent memory?
It literally feels like the club started 30 points behind the top teams (which is probably generous considering we've barely strengthened).
That being said, I do feel like this is a very talented bunch of young players, we just needed one or two clever additions to really kick on.
It's the lack of ambition, as reflected in the acceptance of incompetence at board-level, which is depressing.

It's the lack of ambition, as reflected in the acceptance of incompetence at board-level, which is depressing. It's a strange one, isn't it. So much to like about players such as the prodigiously talented Greenwood, the resurgent Martial, the much improved Fred, the impactful and creative Fernandes, the mercurial Pogba, the robust Wan-Bissaka and the promising Van De Beek. I still believe Rashford can turn it around as well. There are strong squad players such as the hardworking McTominay and the wily Matic. But then you have the lovely intentions but sluggish pace of Mata, the incompetence of Lindelof, the I don't know the point of Rojo, the injury record of Jones, the unreliability of Bailly and the overpromotion and sheer averageness of Maguire. Don't even get me started on the disappointment that is Pereira or the non-contributing gif that is Lingard. I believe what gets tolerated becomes the culture. We have some serious talent in that dressing room. But we're tolerating too much averageness. Our lack of ambition is as much about hanging on to players that clearly aren't good enough, as it is about bringing in those that are.

It's the lack of ambition, as reflected in the acceptance of incompetence at board-level, which is depressing. These are valid points. If the squad was a disaster in some ways it would be easier to stomach. The fact is we have some really good players. Clever additions as you say, would make a huge difference. I cannot understand how Woodward can look at the impact Bruno has had and not want to repeat that. The fact that Bruno’s price was actually very reasonable has also given Woodward the idea that the ball park for game changers is around 45 million. This is laughable obviously. We had a chance to do something this summer and have failed. That’s the great shame. Bruno, Rashford, Martial, Mason, AWB, they all deserve better really. These are top players who would shine in teams like Juve, Dortmund, Bayern etc. But they may end up wasting their prime at this shitshow. Bruno already looks like he should be angling for a move to Spain in a year. I wouldn’t hold it against him.

There’s an absolutely loads of good (sensible) stuff on Twitter atm with regards to those fucking wretched owners in Miami,Woodward, Judge et al I’ve been on Twitter for a fair old number of years, and have NEVER seen the type ,and amount, of (proper) stick that these ghastly fuckers are getting. #glazersoutwoodwardout is a pretty good place to start if you’re not used to Twitter! It’s the only thing we can do at present, particularly overseas fans. We can decide, as I have, never to buy official merchandise again. But the social media stuff is immediate and it is getting to them. That’s 2 briefs in 48 hours saying the backlash is unfair in their opinion. Castles confirmed on his podcast it was an Aston brief, if not by name directly. Keep it up!

Unfair my arse, what's unfair Ed you complete dipstick is that we United fans have to sit around waiting week after week, month after month, year after year hoping for something to happen that could bring us back to where we belong. But no, a total lack of action in the market while our rivals around us all make signings with ease has us playing catch up yet again and looking like fucking muppets once again. UNFAIR...........WHAT A C*NT 🤬

There simply was no interest in Jesse Lingard, Phil Jones, Andreas Pereira and Marcos Rojo #muzone [@skysports_sheth]
I wonder why?

Classic Woodward logic: “If you can’t sell them, pay ‘em more money.”

There simply was no interest in Jesse Lingard, Phil Jones, Andreas Pereira and Marcos Rojo #muzone [@skysports_sheth] I wonder why? Yet we gave them all new deals. How much money would we have in the transfer budget if we didn't have them? I bet those 4 alone are on a combined £20m in wages. Yet those poor gimps don't like it when people on social media hurt their feelings, or crying poverty because we aren't making £5m per game. It's your fault you pricks! You put us into debt! Why don't they try spending their own money, like other club owners do?

Classic Woodward logic: “If you can’t sell them, pay ‘em more money.” it's hubris from Ed, plain and simple. he'd rather pay them more money and 'protect' their 'value', rather than see them leave on a free.
