The Irish Prime Minister, Leo Varadkar just announced a shutdown... 'All schools, colleges and childcare facilities in Ireland will close tomorrow until the end of the month, the country's leader has said. Leo Varadkar made the announcement, saying the measures to combat the spread of coronavirus will remain in place until 29 March'. He's just announced a ban on mass gatherings. So, Ireland is now basically shut-down. |

I'm flying to Disney World (Florida) for two weeks on 9th May with my German fiancée (not covered by the travel ban as she hasn't been back since Christmas but you never know with US security...). Terrified it'll be cancelled in some way and I'm very stressed about it. I've been looking forward to the trip since we booked it over a year ago and will be devastated if it's cancelled, it's got me through all of my lower moments in the past year as I've been so excited. I know it sounds stupid, but it means the world to me. Genuinely, the only solace I can think of right now is that Liverpool may be cost the league. That would be a sweet moment. I was supposed to be going to Girona next month. I cancelled it all this morning. I'm pretty disappointed because I love that part of the world, but I doubt the kids are going to care too much because it's such a 'dad holiday' according to my youngest, whatever that means. Anyway, they'll probably be happy about spending their Easter playing video games. I would genuinely laugh my cock off if this cost the dippers their league title, though. A few weeks ago they were on cloud 9 with talk of an unbeaten season and treble, now they might not get anything. I kind of hope that they get the title awarded to them if the season is written off. That way a lot of the shine will be taken off the win. Those cunts will never know that magical feeling we felt in '92/'93 after finally getting over the line. |

Norway is now in a shutdown until 26th of march:
Closes kindergartens, prime school, secondary schools, high schools, and other educational institutions. The exception applies to critical social functions, such as the use of persons in risk groups as a babysitter. Offer must be made for these. The same goes for children with special needs.
Close to cultural events and sporting events, all establishments in the catering industry except dining places that can accommodate a meter distance between guests.
Gyms, hairdressers, tattoos, body care, swimming pools close. Wholesale is open and there is no need to stock up on food. The transport sector is maintained as normal.
- Avoid unnecessary travel, both domestically and abroad. Avoid public transport. Everyone who comes from traveling outside the Nordic countries must in the home quarantine regardless of symptoms. We request not to visit people in institutions, such as nursing homes, prisons, etc.
In order to ensure health care personnel, a decision has been made to ban foreign travel for persons with patient care. Those affected will have their costs compensated. This applies from today through April 2020.

I've heard just now from a teacher that all schools will be closed in the uk next Friday for four weeks. Could be sooner at this rate. Shits gonna get real pretty quickly.

If games do go ahead, I think people underestimate how much of a difference closed doors will make. It essentially eliminates any home advantage for the remainder of the season. That may help us as we mostly play 'lower' teams for the rest of the PL season, but it's still going to have an effect.
