I would make him (Bruno) Captain immediately, he’s absolutely everywhere on the pitch, constantly talking to players, directing play, drifting in and out, their players couldn’t get near him this afternoon, what a display. Id take it off Maguire because he hasnt earned it himself. Hes been lucky its fallen into his lap. All this talk of another CB being needed I wouldn't be saying they would come in to partner him either. Lindelof isn't the player he was past season but hes made far less mistakes this season. None of our defenders apart from AWB are safe from the chop. As for MvG this lad is the real deal. Can shoot with either foot, he's quick, can play on the right or up front and he's a natural finisher. Ole nutures him properly and hes going to turn into a belter for us. Certainly puts at ease the immediate need for cover up front.

I say just let Bruno keep doing what he’s doing. No need to burden him with the armband.

Maguire had a shocker today, our back 4 were a shambles at times.
Bruno, what a man. Literally covered every blade of grass on top of his usual attacking contributions. But Mason, jesus. As Ole said, he's shown the league what everyone in the academy has been saying about him and how he is either going to cut inside and score or go down the line and score. He's going to hit some numbers for us.

Think about Ronaldo’s season as an 18 year old and then take a look at what Mason is doing this year. Sure they’re not entirely comparable scenarios since Ron was coming from a much weaker league but we’re seeing much more of the raw potential in Mason then we saw with Ron his 1st year. Mason is going to be a very special player for us.

When was the last time we were first on MOTD for not an embarrassing reason?

First time we've scored 5 goals in a home league game since 2011 👀

Watched this at the pub with my phone as the screen so couldn’t post here. Felt shit when Bournemouth went ahead, and again when they equalised (thankfully VAR stepped in) as I’ve had a shit couple of days. But that lad Mason is fucking special, and in the end we did pretty well.

Hes gifted and for someone so young, a natural finisher. We have talented youngsters at this club and considering the state of the transfer market we need them more than ever.

Trying to think of a teenager that has excited me more than Greenwood, or a new signing that has had more of an instant impact than Fernandes.
On Greenwood, only Giggs, Ronaldo and Rooney spring to mind as 18 year old's who had this level of ability. And I'll hold my hand up and admit, I used to slate Ronaldo. Mainly due to having had a few pints and being angry at him doing his 33rd step over instead of simply playing the ball in, but I compared him to Joe Cole or one of those street performers. No end product at all. I knew he had insane ability, it just used to drive me mental watching him fanny on as much as he used to.
Giggs and Rooney were wonderful at that age, but honestly Greenwood has what they had. He looks like scoring any time he gets the ball, he has pace, finishing is off the charts good, both feet brilliant, can beat a man, and has that fantastic instinct to hit the shot so early, the instant he gets a gap he takes it on. That is so difficult to defend against. No hesitation, just "boom".
Fernandes. The only new signings that came straight in and had this kind of impact I can think of, were Cantona, RVN, and Van Persie. But all three joined excellent teams. Fernandes joined a struggling side bereft of confidence. We'd finished 2nd season before Eric joined and were clearly the best side in the country, though were struggling for form (from hazy memory I think we were something like 7th the day he signed). If I remember rightly, our first match after he signed was Arsenal, we won 1-0 and Eric was in the crowd with a polo neck sweater on, I remember watching Match Of The Day. We'd had a shite run leading up to that, 5 straight draws followed by back to back 1-0 losses, then finally a win over Oldham. When Eric made his debut, we went unbeaten in the next 8 games, winning 6.
But RVN and RVP joined machines, great sides that were winning game after game anyway.
We'd lost 4 of our last 7 league games before Fernandes signing, failing to score in all 4 defeats. We've not lost since he made his debut and not failed to score since that debut game.
He's a dream player. Everyone looks better around him, he's lifted the whole side, and the players individually.
Any other day over the last 7 years, when an absolute parcel like Bournemouth would come to OT and score first (great 'keeping again by the way Dave, worlds best) my head would sink, I'd have zero confidence that we'd turn this around; totally different now, it's like Fergie days again. Oh, you've scored? Well, that's nice. Not going to change anything of course you bloody idiots, we're going straight up the other end and smashing 5 in, but at least you got something to cheer for a few minutes. Hopefully the ref falls over, that should get you a little cheer as well.

Don’t want to overdo it, I’ll be ok - just got told I’m likely to be made redundant by the job I started a couple of months ago. Not ideal, but nothing I can’t bounce back from. Going to the pub again certainly helped. And United winning helped even more, especially as I wasn’t always sure we would! Onto the next one, let’s keep the streak going lads.

Our front 3 is something to purr about, but we’ve won fuck all. It’s great Mason has scored more goals than Firmino this seasons, but who’s picking up a winners medal this weekend?
Ideally what’s happene the last 10 days should be launching pad for a team brimming with potential. It needs quality additions, whether a manger who is clearly in over his head but still swimming, is backed with cash remains to be seen.

Our strongest 11 are as good as anyone in the league in my opinion, the problem is the rest of the squad. There’s not enough quality to make an impact during a game. Had Bournemouth kept their lead for longer, who could we have possibly brought on to make a difference? This is what bothers me. We shouldn’t be scared by bringing in the kind of players who would challenge Martial and Rashford for places, we need to remember Greenwood is a kid and should probably still be used intelligently, and we need to be able to cope with injuries to key players like Bruno. So if Ed thinks we’re golden and there’s no need to spend much this summer, he should think again.

Scares me that Ed will think we don't need to bother anymore. It'll be very tough to manage Greenwood and not start him every game from now on but Ole gets paid to be the manager for a reason.

Its hard to know what Ed is thinking, im sure we will sign players more so if CL football becomes a reality.
