Lewa hasn’t slowed down yet has he though? Europe’s top goal scorer again thus far. No way those two are on the same team at the moment for several reasons. I think the trick will be to keep him from city. Aguero probably goes I think he could walk and join Messi at PSG, nice little argie reunion with Poch. No he hasn't, but Bayern like getting their house in order early. They could do a deal with Dortmund and let Haaland spend another year in Dortmund for example. Operate like an actual football club? Nonsense thinking!

Did this fly under the radar today? It’s nice of Ole to save Ed the time he would otherwise need to spend briefing the media. Now Ed can focus on his real passion, dancing.

Will give benefit of the doubt that this is to keep prices down and maintain value on those we have out. If he says we are after a couple of players then realistically anyone we call is hiking that price up and agents will use us to no end.
Maybe this is the way they try and limit the nonsense albeit inevitable we will get a degree of nonsense

It certainly would help. I am in the minority but would rather we play it down and then get in astute signings like bissouma, dembele (if he continues to stay fit) and upamanco. Those deals can realistically be done for about £100 to £110 million. And £90 million can be recouped as a minimum by the sale of pogba, lingard, pereira and Jones You would expect savings on wages with those players gone and mata and Romero. Get dalot back or sell and get Aaron’s and it’s further good work done.

I don’t really buy the idea that us saying we aren’t going to spend much really does anything to keep prices down. Selling clubs know we are rich (but don’t want to actually spend it). If the player is good enough another club will pay the cash or they can keep the player. We tried that last summer and had a pretty shit window. No reason to think next summer will play out differently. Clubs are wise to our nonsense.

Let’s face the reality, we aren’t rich. We are running off fumes, COVID, lack of trophies and lack of sparkle have set in so any club thinking the money is there to be splashed really need to think again.

If that’s the case, then we’re relying on a player pushing hard for a transfer. Which doesn’t really happen that much. Sancho didn’t last summer, no reason to think Grealish would next year. More clubs seem to be sticking to their guns, ie if they say 65 million for a player they mean it.

All things considered I think Sancho would have made a big difference however the sums involved without knowing when we could have a full stadium, the sponsorship situation, it all meant we could not afford the deal. We spread the money. The fact is without the pogba sale that was expected we didn’t have the juice needed. I expect that we are hoping for the pogba cash this summer too
