Bailly took time to wake up, lucky we weren’t punished for his early brain-farts.
Should of, could of, scored more, but what we did achieve was a pleasure to watch. Will we now see the youngsters in the dead-rubber leg? Doubt it, but we can hope!

If Ole cant see that Henderson and Bailly make a big difference to the team now he never will.

If Ole cant see that Henderson and Bailly make a big difference to the team now he never will. De Gea, Lindelof and Martial should be out the team now, you have to pick form players and Ole needs to show he has the thoughts and the balls to do this, not just keep blindly picking the wrong players. I get the "form is temporary" argument but this is not a few games/weeks. Martial has been awful all season, Lindelof has never looked like a Premier League centre back since day one, and De Gea's issues go all the way back to the 2018 World Cup, he had a shocker and has never looked the same player since, that's almost 3 solid years of under performance from him. Henderson and Bailly absolutely deserve their run of games now (if Bailly can stay fit) and Cavani, Rashford and Greenwood should be starting front 3. Greenwood too has had a pretty wretched time in front of goal but his all round game is looking back up to speed and he is a damn better bet than Martial at the moment. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a lot of pressure from above on Ole to play De Gea considering the wages he's picking up, but if this is so then he needs to bloody man up and tell his bosses where to go, they do not get to pick the team.

Have to disagree, there was a period a couple of seasons ago (maybe early last, pre-covid, can't recall) when he was our best CB and there were calls (on here) to build the defence around him (strange, but true). Lord only knows what's happened to him since though, I could challenge for high balls with more conviction than him!

Bailly - Maguire - Henderson was solid for most part.
But we all know how this goes , degea - lindelof will be back for next game.

We should have enough to hopefully rest Bruno, Marshall, AWB, McTominay, Fred for the next game. Diallo, James, mata, Marshall front 4. Matic, and dvb if fit as pivot. Williams and telles as fullbacks.

The usual irony that a supposedly weakened team looks a lot better than Ole's preferred first XI.
I don't think there are any particular orders from the top. After all Pogba is far more marketable than De Gea and Ole has been able to drop Pogba on several occasions. I think Ole just isn't ruthless enough and has too much patience. Probably subscribes to the old chestnut "Form is temporary but class is permanent". Shame because it breeds complacency and if a player's form is bad because of poor confidence or burnout taking them out of the firing line and giving them a rest is often the best thing for them especially if losing their place in the side lights a fire in them and makes them hungry again. But squad management simply is one of the many aspects of management that Ole doesn't really excel at.

The big question is how do we go from the West Brom and Sheff Utd performances to that last night? De Gea and Linda we were dropped but there has to be more to it, the consistency is poles apart.

They played into our hands by allowing us the space in behind to counter. We’ve gotten better at unlocking defences this season but we still in general struggle more against the West Brom ethos of sitting in deep.

Still the best way of beating us is to let us have the ball. Any team who plays a high line against us is crazy given the speed we have in the forwards. Sit back against us, rattle Bruno and you have a far better chance of doing us.
