The results against other big clubs clearly do matter. We dropped 16 points in those games. That goes a long way towards explaining why City are 12 points ahead of us.
Also big teams have squads of comparable quality so the big games are a truer test of management quality and the mentality of our players.
And even if they count the same as any other game from a league perspective for the fans victories in the big games are especially sweet.

There's so much wrong at the club it's hard to know where to start, as Stew has said, we're fucked for years to come,
Incompetent owners Incompetent Ed Incompetent Judge Inexperienced manager Inexperienced coaching staff players who in the past would have been considered squad players, ala O'Shea, Fletcher and so on now make up most of the first team Only one number 9 at the club, Cavani No right winger 2 centre backs who don't compliment each other Their so called back up players Bailly and Axel who are probably better than the regular starters cannot be relied upon to stay fit to push them out of the team 2 DCM's who work hard but do not have the technical ability to control a game A right back still learning his trade Rashford who is insanely inconsistent(especially this season) but is still the only one next to Bruno who can win us a game with some brilliance.(and i take back what i said about his workrate) Then there's Pogba, will he stay or will he go?? De Gea, error prone and confidence shot these last couple of years Martial not good enough, doesn't have the guts, needs to go but will probably still be here in 5 years time Phil Jones, Romero, Andy Pereira, Lingard all still at the club No money, no transfer strategy apart from snapping up youngsters in the hope we miraculously come up with another class of 92
but apart from that i think we're good to go......đź‘Ť

First of all, I never said Ole was an amateur. Secondly, we should compare ourselves with the team leading the league because that’s what Utd are supposed to do. I realise the issues at the club go way past Ole but unfortunately he’s now become complicit in lowering the standards to an alarming level. No amount of talk about rebuilds can hide that. You didnt call him amateur , i was referring to the general opinion of him on the forum nowadays - you know, naïve , incompetent , charlatan , sell out, clueless , not 'elite' , has a job only due to bruno etc.. Secondly anyone who thinks we can compete with city with the current squad is deluded. I can understand the criticism if its coming after he was backed with Sancho , upamecano and couple of CMs. But thats not the case is it. This is what i said on Jan 5: "To be very honest I feel we need to wait 4 or 5 more games to see if the title challenge is on. This group is still young and very shaky at the back , also teams like city are getting into form and they have much more experienced players. Its not going to be easy by any means" Stew iam not blind , i can obviously see there are areas which need improvement ,both on and off field like Maguire-lindelof CB pairing or needless 'happy with the squad' comments he make, but this call for him to be fired after anything other than a win (sometimes even after a win) is ridiculous. That’s fair enough. I may not agree with you all the time but you back up your position thoughtfully and that deserves respect.

Would they not have the recording of the referees conversation with Maguire? Easiest way to disprove what was originally alleged (prior to backtrack) would be to release the audio surely?
There’s just no accountability is there. They apologise to clubs a week later on the quiet and unless you’re really active online, you’d probably miss it because it doesn’t make proper news.
If what was alleged was actually said to Maguire, he should’ve walked the players off the fucking pitch. You just can’t imagine a proper captain standing for that. Bruno would surely hit the roof. But we’ve seen Maguire side with the ref’s already this season.

Shaw isn’t getting banned, which is surprising.

Shaw isn’t getting banned, which is surprising. Yeah. I thought those cunts would go into complete self preservation mode and ban him.

Yup. A cautionary tale as to what happens when businessmen try to run a football club. I'd much rather we'd been taken over by Saudis. At least they care about winning stuff. Shaw isn’t getting banned, which is surprising. That may have to do with the fact he was actually correct in what the referee supposedly told Maguire. The FA might be trying to hide a major controversy here and they know we’ll appeal any ban and possibly lead evidence that Attwell, the useless sack of shit, actually said what he did to Maguire. Sorry I know I sound very rawkish but the result still has me fuming.

We have numerous examples of the FA screwing Utd to make examples of us but this is very quickly brushed under the carpet? Not buying it.

It's funny how managers and players have slated VAR and referees all season and nothing happens. 2 of ours do it once and its looked at by the FA.
