Depends really whether Ole decides to make a bunch of changes and field a weakened team or goes with his strongest team. If the former I can see Granada getting something out of the game. If the latter we should manage a decent win.

Villarreal, who I think we’ll meet in the final, hammered these guys at the weekend, mainly due to some horrendous errors at the back. From what I know they were a bit of a fairy tale early on but have run out of steam a bit lately. If we go about our business properly we should win this in a straightforward manner. However, Brighton played us off the park for 60 minutes so who knows?

I think only the manager is averse to the idea of trophies. Pretty much every United fan I know personally wants to win this competition.

I was bored last night so had a look at total European trophies won. I left out Super Cups as they are a bit Charity Shield. Currently we are 9th on the list in terms of trophies won. For a club like Utd that is nowhere near good enough. By winning this we go level with Juve, Inter and Ajax, which is at least a start.

We’re nowhere near big or successful enough to turn our noses up at this. Nowhere at all.
