im not 100% sold on him yet He’s a fantastic young player. Who had a mare tonight. Little service again. No wonder he struggled. Pretty much the same every week for whoever plays that role.

Awful awful game but that’s a tidy result.

So looking like Roma in the semi's.
They're a danger but we're a better side than them.
Poor game again but good result. Shit ref. Not much else to say really.

Scholes, Hargreaves and Humphrey all saying it wasn't a pen and basically that Bruno play-acted to win it. Defender straight-arm palmed him in the face.

im not 100% sold on him yet This really confuses me. Me too. I get everyone’s entitled to an opinion and that, but this is the hottest take I’ve seen on here since ‘Rashford needs a loan’. That’s absolutely a player in Greenwood. He just happens to be playing up top with an unfit Rashford and Dan James out wide. Peak Ruud would struggle for goals with that kind of service.

I don’t rate Lindelof but that was an incredible ball for the goal. He played a similar pass vs Sheff Utd away. He’s got it in his locker. If he played that sort of pass more often than not, and it leads to goals, you could almost forgive his defensive performances.

Hence why the likes of Makelele, Kante and Vieira were so good at it. Always thought TFM was more a destroyer in a similar mould.

Anyway. I should comment on the game.
That performance reminded me of latter day Fergie in Europe. Calm for the most part and clinical when we needed to be. Thoroughly professional. Given the tosser we have in this side, I’m still edgy, given 3 lads are out next week.
I’m arguably the founder, leader and sole member of the Dan James club, but he’s had a stinker tonight. I get the kid, Amad, needs easing in and expectations tempered, but he has to offer more than DJ. Unless we’re still worrying about the opposition more than making them worry about us?

Multi posting and IDGAF. That’s 3 clean sheets away in a row. That’s two trips to Spain and the San Siro not conceding. That’s noteworthy.

What gets me is why is Amad sat on the bench game after game and not getting any minutes, it's a complete waste of his time, surely he's better getting 90 minutes with the ressies. As for Dan James, i think you're spot on, he plays because of his defensive work, like you say, more worried about the opposition.

I think this is Mason’s worst ever game for Utd. im not 100% sold on him yet i had to go back through the thread to make sure you were actually talking about greenwood. 3rd top scorers for teenages behind Rooney and rashford and will most likely over take them and being played out of position to help him develop. probably isnt ready to lead the line but being not sold on him, thats insane.

Yeah it was a mature and disciplined performance. We didn't let the spoiler tactics of the referee and opposition players get to us. And thanks to the second goal we are very much in control of the tie.
Bit unfair to Mason. Number 9 isn't his usual position for us and he didn't get much in the way of service. Shame Cavani is unlikely to stay another season as he'd be really helpful for Mason's development. Leaves us with a bit of a dilemna in the summer. Do we buy a right winger with the intention of moulding Greenwood into a number 9? Or do we stick with Greenwood on the right and bring in a proper number 9?
Maybe with Cavani leaving Ole feels its best to give Mason a run as a number 9 to see whether he looks like he can grow into the role next season and provide Martial with some competition in case Martial has another stinker of a season?
