Manchester United


1. Where will we finish in the:

a) Premier League - Fourth. Hoping for a genuine title challenge but with some competitive squads now knocking about Ole will still hold us back.

b) Champions League - QFs. We'll beat the teams we're better than and lose to the teams we're worse than. Second in the group after a tough draw but beat a nicer-looking second round team before losing to Juve or Bayern or someone.

c) FA Cup - Winner. Ole has absolutely no excuse to not win a trophy this year, and the FA Cup is probably his best bet. I can see some counter-attacking victories in the semi and final, but think Ole will place serious resources here as he knows he needs silverware.

d) League Cup - Semis. We'll waste enough time here to affect our schedule but bow out before the final, as is tradition.


2. Who will be our top scorer? - Cavani.


3. Who will be our Player of the Season? - Bruno.


4. Who will be a disappointment? - Unless we get another signing, the centre of midfield will hold us back in the same way the centre backs did last year.


5. Will Ole be manager next summer? - Yes. I say he needs silverware but, honestly, as long as he gets top four we all know he's going nowhere.

6. If not us, who will win the (or, if answered above, who will come second?):

a) Premier League - Chelsea. They'll edge City as they peak before their usual trough.

b) Champions League - Bayern. Still the best team in Europe, just lost to PSG in a tight tie who then did their usual freakout against City. PSG will get Messi and do well but the weight of expectation will crush them eventually, especially as the midfield is still looking light.

c) FA Cup - Tottenham will have a run to the final to keep their fans happy before losing to us.

d) League Cup - City. Their stupidly large squad will once again mean they can get to the final before playing any of their first XI.


7. How will the top 6 in the PL look?

1 - Chelsea
2 - Manchester City
3 - Liverpool
4 - Manchester United
5 - Leicester
6 - Tottenham Hostpur

8. Who will be PL top scorer (or, if answered above, who will come second)? - Lukaku will still look dodgy at times, but Chelsea will create so many easy chances for him it'll be impossible not to get 20/25 goals.

9. Who will be the PL Player of the Season (or, if answered above, who will come second)? - I'd love to say Bruno will get the recognition he was denied last year, but he'll probably get ignored again, so I'll say Jorginho will get a bunch of plaudits for winning the league with Chelsea, helped by the similar plaudits he got for winning the Euros.

Manchester United


1. Where will we finish in the:

a) Premier League - 3rd. City and Chelsea have better managers and better squads. Liverpool I think will continue to have insufficient squad depth unless they do some serious business this month and will probably be more of a cup team.

b) Champions League - knocked out in the Group Stages. I think we will get another tough group and Ole will screw it up. But I can see us winning the Europa League at Ole's third attempt.

c) FA Cup d) League Cup - will depend on the draw but cannot see us winning either when any of the following clubs can beat us in a one-off game: City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Leicester. Maybe we can beat one of those clubs in a knock out competition but more than one would be a push for Ole.

2. Who will be our top scorer? - Greenwood. Cavani will score more goals per minute but I think over the course of the whole season Greenwood will get a lot more minutes and gets more clinical every season. Love the kid.

3. Who will be our Player of the Season? - Sancho. He's fresh and ready to make a big impression and I can see him tearing it up for us. Bruno is probably still a bit burnt out from being overplayed for so long by Ole and having to carry the team.

4. Who will be a disappointment? - Lingard. He'll get some gametime early in the season on the back of his West Ham performances. But he'll show once again he isn't good enough and Ole will go back to playing Bruno every game.


5. Will Ole be manager next summer? - Yes. Top 4 is enough. He'll have his excuses lined up when we fail to win anything.

a) Premier League - City. They won it last season and then go and spend £100M on Grealish and probably another £150M on Kane. That is financial unfair play for you.

b) Champions League - PSG. They are bound to win it eventually. And Ramos and Messi will help them break their habit of bottling it every season.

c) FA Cup/League Cup - Chelsea have shown under Tuchel they can win cups so I can see them winning at least one of them. And I think Liverpool will win the other as I can see them being more of a cup team next season and on their day they can still beat anyone under Klopp.

4. Who will be a disappointment? Greenwood. Mostly because I had to pick someone. Would've gone Sancho but he's coming into a brand new team

So, for United I got the league finish completely wrong, the cups completely wrong, top scorer wrong, POTS wrong, disappointment pretty much right except I could have just wrote "Everyone and everything" and still been right, Ole being here wrong. Good going.

For everyone else I got City champions and Arsenal finishing 5th spot on. And that's about it.

This is why I don't bet anymore.
