It’s laughable really. I’d put money on the fact that James is starting primarily because he did when we beat them 6-2 last year and that sums up our entry level manager.

Henderson not even in the squad? Is he injured? Greenwood central is good. Pogba and James on the wings with McFred central reminds me of the worst of last year, but hopefully just temporary due to the fitness issues after the Euros and Copa. The bench is fairly weak but hopefully Sancho and/or VDB can come on to change the game if needed. Henderson has been ill apparently. Recovering from Covid. |

If you are going on pre season form and match fitness Donny and Matic and Lingard should be starting ahead of mcfred and James.
And the problem is that if we manage to win ole will feel vindicated and keep picking the wrong team

As uninspiring as McFred usually is, in fairness they were very good when we last played this lot at home, especially McTominay. Given we haven't signed a CM and we don't have Varane yet, I can understand it today.
The real test is if that pivot remains once Varane is starting. It certainly shouldn't most weeks.
