As in, Adidas don't give us 700m or whatever it was, and then just let us sell all their shit for free and just make bank for the privilege.
Never understood the old he'll pay for himself with shirt sales, unless it's signing a world superstar just before you sign the kit deal

If the club agrees a cap arrangement on profit/units sold e.g. first X revenue goes to sponsor/comm. partner and Y revenue goes to club. Unlikely though. |

Not sure when the best timing would have been for this from CR7. im holding my final opinion until I watch the full interview, but if he goes in two footed on the Leeches and the Club, and Ten Hag is collateral, I'll take that.
It serves all parties, Ronaldo cant come back -which is what Ten Hag and Ronaldo wants, and the club is shown up to be the shambles that it is, and the cracks that Ten Hag is currently doing a better-than-expected job in covering up will be exposed in a way the Club or the Owners never planned for and thus cannot react quickly enough to change the narrative around.
Ten Hag is a big boy, he will get past this. The attention it brings this week, Over Christmas and up until Ronaldo moves in January will bedevil the ownership/executive and hopefully embarrass them all the way to their bank accounts.

My thoughts are a bit different on this Ronaldo power play.
Does anybody think that this will move the needle on the Vultures finally selling the club? Not likely at all.
Does anyone think that the negative stink that Ronaldo spews will hurt recruiting any top talent? I say yes.
Ronaldo wanted out in the summer and stayed home while the squad got fit. While I understand his desire for CL football for him personally it wasn’t happening with United. So who’s at fault for no deal this past summer? I doubt we will ever hear the full truth on this. But getting paid £488k per week must be a nice soother, yet he stews about and makes life difficult for a manager who is tasked with making our dysfunctional squad play as a team.
Being a unprofessional spoilt aging star and refusing to go into a game and then marches down the tunnel for full viewing impact crosses the line for me. Fucking off just before the WC with the, “I’m sick”, bullshit when our striking options we mainly in the physio room and we needed him was again total bullshit.
I hope that Ronaldo has a great WC and he can find a new club to play for in January, because he’s done himself with our club….no player is bigger then the club, that includes CR7.

By and large, Ronaldo is well liked and respected, regardless of talent. He’s genuinely seen as a good lad. Kevin Pietersen is, by and large, seen as a massive dick head respected due to the fact he’s nothing more than a talented cricketer. He’s genuinely seen as a cunt. I’d take anything KP says with tonnes of salt. |

Guess it wasn’t champions league football he was after…. Imo it never was. Since the summer everything has been the Ronaldo show, even more so after finally coming up against a manager that out his ego in check. The world cup has been the same. Just glad its not longer our problem. |
