In a way yes. Last year we were appalling defending set pieces. So this is clearly the result of better coaching from the new guy coming in. You’d hope the open play goals will calm down soon. Maguire, who I don’t mind normally as a player, has been dreadful since the Euros. Hopefully he’ll get up to speed (well...). We also desperately need the defensive mid position sorted.

Our defending has improved and will only get better as the Varane and Maguire further develops. The major plus thus far has been De Gea who has hasn’t looked this good for 3 years. The competition with Henderson has clearly helped.
