Yeah basically Ole has pretty much been given the squad he wanted. OK midfield has issues but just as Klopp did with Liverpool he could have found a way to work around it. And we are about ten games into the season already and there is nothing to suggest that we have any real chance of challenging for the title or the Champions League.
Already we've drawn against Everton and Southampton and lost to Aston Villa. We got beaten in the cups by Young Boys and West Ham. And were quite lucky to turn things around against Villareal and required similar escapes against West Ham and Wolves in the league. It really isn't looking very convincing at all.

You’ve not been mis-sold on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer though have you? If anything you’ve gotten what you expected. I desperately want this guy to succeed here (fed up of replacing managers and would love to see him prove people wrong) and I've defended him when a lot of others have done the opposite. But lately even I can't say anything to defend him, he's digging his own hole. I'd love to see him turn this around but that's never going to happen when he's still making the same obvious mistakes week in week out. We might not have been mis-sold on him at the start but by now I do expect much better at a club of this level. We had a longer than normal ‘new manager bounce’ and the club stupidly gave him the job shortly after the PSG game but should have just waited until the end of the season to see how it pans out along with seeing what other candidates are out there. Then the club has just made the same stupid mistake again by giving him a new 3 year deal instead of waiting until around January to see how the season is panning out along with seeing what other candidates are out there. it’s not only ole who makes repeat mistakes.

I’ve seldom seen a player weaker in the tackle than Fred. It’s embarrassing.

There’ll be clauses in that contract. Jose also got a new one . Every manager bar him was sacked once CL football was missed.

For me only positive thing from this match was Sancho ,looks like he is getting upto speed now. Also hope Martial scoring that goal help his confidence and he goes on a good run now

Is there a manager other than Klopp who has taken mediocrity in midfield and won? And let’s not forget that Klopp didn’t win until they got Fabinho, so I’m not even sure that the point holds.

He’s got another option in midfield but prefers McFred for some bizarre reason. Also seemed to let Herrera go without much resistance. Klopp got 76 points in his first full season >4th A good job 66 was enough for 4th in Solskjaer’s.

Also hope Martial scoring that goal help his confidence and he goes on a good run now Sancho looked lively when he came on, he hasn't even been as bad as people make out he's just not scored a goal yet. People need to reel their criticism of the lad in, its embarrassing the way some fans jump on a player so quickly. He's only played one full game for us. The rest have been subs, not easy when you're a player that needs game time. As for Martial Im glad he got the goal but let's face it other than the goal he did fuck all else. Still doesn't offer enough for me. Best for him and us if he moved on now.

But agree this season is his last chance. Anyway if he gets into good form either it helps us or it increases his value in the market , win - win for us

Went to this game. Hour walk there, hour walk back, hungover like fuck after spending 6hrs at a beer fest.
What's most startling, when seeing a game in person is how static the midfield and forward players are. Zero movement which is why so much of our possession is CB to CB sideways passes. It's genuinely maddening.
