As shit as we are, Chelsea were broadly playing as shit as we are now this time last year and look where they ended up. Even if we tank in the PL I think it's important we stay in the CL. There's a few genuinely excellent sides in Europe this year, more than last year, but they all still have vulnerabilities and our squad has the quality to upset them all on our day.

The league is probably gone regardless of what we do with Ole, but if we can hang on in the CL and he goes around Christmas (realistically no way he goes before then), then I think we have a genuine chance in this competition. We probably won't do a Chelsea, they are a jammy club almost every year and their draw was a joke, but they showed it can at least be done and if that side with Lampard could do it once he left, then this side with Ole can too once he goes.

This idea of playing shite and needing desperate late sieges to fluke a late win is just "part of United. It's what this club does".

Fuck off. It's a mark of an underprepared and poor team. Yes, Fergies great sides could win games late, but 90% of games were wrapped up nice and early. It's become an easy excuse for the shite we see on the pitch as just some part of what United is and always has been.

How often have we seen the 1st half been beyond awful and the 2nd half an improvement under Ole? But it's "The United way to make it difficult for ourselves" No it fucking isn't, it's a sign there are clear, obvious and deep rooted problems at the club if we always need to be facing defeat and getting overran before deciding to actually turn it around.
