Anyone in the media wringing their hands over Ronaldo 'not pressing' missing the Villarreal match in which Ronaldo was literally coordinating the 'when' we pressed.

It's gonna be the shit players with that attitude, who get selected no matter how they perform... Bye then, shut the fucking door on your way out, but not before Carrick and his mates have a chance to leave. Not convinced Ronaldo is part of this group either, the pressing thing is lazy paper talk, he wants to win, he'll run his arse of if that's what it takes. The press are great at making shit up or speculating. Since when has Ronaldo ever been adverse to hard work? It's lazy journalism. Players want to play in a successful side and they will normally respond to high demands if it yields results and they see tangible improvements on and off the pitch. Ronaldo is the way he is precisely because he’s so dedicated to hard work and will do whatever it takes to make him a better player. Do they think you get to look like that from thumbing through old copies of Shoot?

I think Rangnick like Tuchel will get the best out of the players at his disposal. Of course there will be casualties but it won't be Ronaldo who is still one of the most prolific strikers in Europe and has the intelligence and professionalism to adapt.
Actually it was Ole that Ronaldo was very unsuited to playing under as Ole was all about the counter attack which doesn't really mesh with having a target man and partly explained why this season we've often looked like we are playing with 10 men. Rangnick will be able to get a lot more out of him.

Wasn't it Rangnick that wanted the DoF position before he was beat out by the overqualified competition that is Darren Fletcher and his 100% United DNA? Some of us were calling for Rangnick to be made DoF when Ole was initially appointed, things would probably have been different had the board acquiesced and done this, instead of pretending that they were looking for one. I remain utterly surprised that someone as well respected as him has deigned to take the job, given our floundering ,idiotic board. Someone must've had a brain fart! DickEd trying to right some wrongs before he departs. He was looking at his final act as being "I support Ole to the End" now it may be "I am the one who set United on the right path" I pray, for our sakes, he is right on the latter but I refuse to give him any credit for it.

Although the timing of this appointment is far later than it should of been, hopefully Rangnick has time to assess the squad and identify who to ships out of the door in January (if any takers, of course).
I have a sneaky suspicion that Lingard may benefit from the new style as he has his deficiencies, but work rate and tracking isn’t one of them.
Interesting times ahead!

Reports say that RR was on the clubs radar to replace Jose. if that’s the case appointing ole was even more of a brain dead decision than first thought.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Fergie had a lot to do with the appointment of Ole?

We've finally got something right. A football man making football decisions at the club.
