I'm not sure he needs to stay on if we get the right manager (ten Hag) who can work together with him... ...but that is another question altogether... Well, if he doesn't stay on then for sure another manager can't work together with him... |

3 years of pandering to undeserved egos, a lack of any tactical acumen, and an over-reliance on the old boys' club has led to this. You have to wonder what Ole's crack team were doing not only in training and games, but behind the scenes. The fact that Maguire was made captain is the perfect microcosm for everything that has gone wrong with the club.
The rot seems to be even deeper than many of us suspected. Absolute disgrace.
Good luck RR, you're going to need it.
EDIT: G-Nev can fuck off as well. Always happy to criticise some players but never his mates. Schmeichel was 100% correct to call him a "busy c***". The club needs a deep-clean that get s rid of any of the old clique, and sadly that includes Fergie as well. His influence, whilst being well meaning I'm sure, has been poisonous since he retired from his actual job.

This was inevitable after 3 years of a PE coach as our manager telling the lads to enjoy themselves. Training sessions under Ole were clearly just kick arounds with encouraging words and little in the way of criticism. That suited a lot of our unambitious players so no surprise they are throwing their toys out of the pram.
Don't think Martial cares enough. More likely one of our English players who were darlings under Ole and are now getting told by Ralf they aren't as great as they think they are and need to pull their fingers out. But Ralf seems pretty ruthless and if he gets any attitude from the players he won't be intimidated by big names and egos and will drop anyone.
