Come on Ralf. Help us bring the good times back!
_________________________________________________________
Manchester United is delighted to announce the appointment of Ralf Rangnick as interim manager until the end of the season, subject to work visa requirements.
Following this period, Ralf and the club have agreed that he will continue in a consultancy role for a further two years.
John Murtough, Manchester United football director, said: “Ralf is one of the most respected coaches and innovators in European football. He was our number one candidate for interim manager, reflecting the invaluable leadership and technical skills he will bring from almost four decades of experience in management and coaching.
“Everyone at the club is looking forward to working with him during the season ahead, and then for a further two years in his advisory role.”
Ralf Rangnick said: “I am excited to be joining Manchester United and focused on making this a successful season for the club.
“The squad is full of talent and has a great balance of youth and experience. All my efforts for the next six months will be on helping these players fulfil their potential, both individually and, most importantly, as a team.
“Beyond that, I look forward to supporting the club’s longer-term goals on a consultancy basis.”
Michael Carrick will remain in charge of the first team until Ralf’s work visa is finalised.
The club wishes to place on record its thanks to Lokomotiv Moscow for their co-operation in the process of bringing Ralf to Manchester United.

I really hope 'consultancy role' translates to 'suits shutting up and doing what they're told'.

Just what we need.
A proper footballing brain in the dugout and then moved upstairs to transform this clusterfuck of a club back to a proper run outfit.

I really hope 'consultancy role' translates to 'suits shutting up and doing what they're told'. You’d like to think that convincing him to take the consultancy role hinges upon this very thing.

Massively excited by this...finally someone who can drag us into the 2020’s after too many worn out ideas and sometimes no ideas at all...

And please sack off half that first team and bring in some of the youth along with some new arrivals in January, midfield being the main priority!!

We have all had some time to think about this appointment and I have been wondering whether Poch or ten Hag would be the better manager to work with him and continue the good work he will no doubt do...still undecided...
However if he has a protege who he could recommend (maybe in the mould of Nagelsmann) then that might be a better proposition going forward...

The past is the past. I'm grateful for all the memories that Fergie gave us. But I feel like we've been through all the stages of grief now:
Shock and denial (Moyes): This can't be happening. Bring another Scotsman in to do what Fergie did for another 30 years.
Pain and guilt (Moyes): What the fuck have we done? Get this clueless bastard out of our club. We feel bad for not 'backing our manager' but enough is enough.
Anger and bargaining (Moyes-LVG): How the fuck do you take a Premier League winning squad and backroom staff and ruin them so quickly? OK, OK, let's get rid of Moyes and bring in a legit world-class manager with a plan.
Depression (LVG): Attack! Attack! Attack! Attack! Attack! (Sideways Pass FC).
The upward turn (Jose): Trophies. Actual trophies.
Back to Depression and Anger (Jose): Jose doing a Jose.
The upward turn (Ole): Vibes and winning run. Paris.
Back to Depression and Anger (Ole): Liverpool. City. Watford.
Reconstruction and working through (Interim before the interim): The club actually acting like a football club and getting the best man for the job.
Acceptance and hope (Ralf): No previous connection to the club, DNA, or any of that tribute-act bollocks. Time to create a new, better version of our club.
Welcome Ralf. It's about fucking time.

Hopefully we've seen the last of McKenna, Phelan and Carrick getting anywhere near the coaching setup.

I am clearly not as well versed in managers as you... ...who is ABP?
