"My opinion is the club should try to find future top players and try to develop them," Rangnick said. "We just need to look into the other top clubs in England and also in other countries in Europe and what players did they sign in the past and you get the answer. It is obvious the club and team needs new players. Some players have no contracts and some might want more game time and are on loan already. "It is obvious the club needs quite a few new players. You need mentality, quality, physicality and skill -- the full package."
Ralf gets it but unfortunately it is difficult to imagine him having much influence when he is Austria's coach and only doing a few days a month consultancy. The writing was on the wall when he admitted he had no say whatsoever in who our next manager was with Murtough and Fletcher leading the interviews. And these truth bombs while refreshing also indicate he no longer feels any need to be political and can say it like it is.
I imagine his advice will fall on deaf ears and the advisor/consultancy role is just cosmetic to give us the appearance we are doing something to rectify the mistakes of the last decade.

I choose to assume that Ralf will be an invaluable asset to the club- whether he coaches a national side or not. Realistically, he should have plenty of time to do both jobs. Yes, it’s a shame we didn't hire him as our Director of Football, but having him as a consultant is better than nothing.

Rangnick has already done more for this club than Moyes, LVG, Jose, Woodward, Judge, etc
He’s influenced the higher echelons of the board to restructure the club and that was desperately required more than anything else.
He’s definitely had influence on the hiring of the new manager and he’s really shown the board what a waste of space the majority of the players are.

Yes and no, had we not had such a disaster of a season I still reckon the penny wouldn’t have dropped. It’s more because they’ve been pushed to act differently.

When he came in everyone was waxing lyrical about his tactical ability and his love of pressing etc. I have seen none of that in these genuinely dreadful few months he’s been in charge. I would actually say we got worse under him. But now we get him to consult? Lol give me a break.

Let’s not forget the very important fact that this lot are fucking uncoachable.

Whilst it's correct to say there has been no change from the listless shit we've seen for years, it's also been pretty well reported that certain players have just flat ignored his orders and tactics. The great thing about his appointment is that he clearly doesn't give a fuck about keeping anyone onside and is going to give a detailed dossier to Erik letting him know exactly who to dump.

And also hopefully the new regime in place higher up means we might actually shift some of the toxicity out of the club. Woodward and Judge would have given them contract extensions on massive wages then wondered why no one would buy them.

I feel tentative excitement at the prospect of some REAL change at Manchester United.

He doesn’t now we have no chance of top 4 anyway. Might have been more diplomatic otherwise.

Love is honest approach, real shame that he will have very little impact at the club after next weekend.
